Bioinformatics Summer Internship 2024 With Hands-On-Training + Project / Dissertation - 30 Days, 3 Months & 6 Months Duration

National Biopharma Mission Programme is a Flagship Programme of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with the main aim of making India a hub for design and development of novel, affordable and effective biopharmaceutical products and solutions and develop India’s technological and product development capabilities in biopharmaceuticals to a globally competitive level over the next decade.

This Program would aid in enhancing India’s innovation research and product development capabilities, especially by focusing on development of vaccines, biologics and medical devices. The programme would facilitate skill development to build next generation inter-disciplinary skills for product innovation across the country. National Biopharma Mission has engaged Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) to organize a series of hands-on and lecture-based workshops in different areas of the biopharmaceuticals across the country. The training programmes are supported by DBT – Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council under the aegis of National Biopharma Mission.

The details of programmes are as follows:

  1. Hands-on Training on Product Validation and Quality Control

Date- 2-6 March 2020
Venue: KIIT-Technology Business Incubator, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha

Application Opens: 02 February 2020
Application Deadline: 19 February 2020

This 5-day programme shall cover comprehensive overview of different analytical techniques used in biopharmaceutical quality control laboratories; workflow for

product characterization profile; specifications and acceptance criteria.

Also in addition, product validation including reliable solution for identifying product degradation and monitoring them throughout production and also comprehensive portfolio of solutions for determining impurities such as host cell, metals and residual solvent.

Training shall be conducted by faculty from Agilent Technol­ogies, KIIIT-TBI and other leading research institutions and companies. Sponsorship from National Biopharma Mission includes participation, training material and accommoda­tion for out-station participants.

Who Can Attend?

Interested candidates from Startups, Industry, Research Institutions, Academic Institutions, Government Bodies, etc. who have a minimum academic qualification of B.Tech/Masters in relevant area of science and technology and atleast 2 years of work experience are eligible to apply for the programme. Applications from non-working professionals who have completed their doctorate/postgraduate degree in relevant area of science and technology can apply for the programme. Upper age limit for applying this programme is 45 years.

2. Lecture Series on Empowering the Changemakers in Biopharma Sector

Date- 3-5 March 2020
Venue: KIIT-Technology Business Incubator, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha

Application Opens: 28 January 2020
Application Deadline: 13 February 2020

This 3-day programme lecture session will cover broad topic as Grant Writing, Scientific Writing, Design Thinking, Business Development, Intellectual Property Rights and regulatory Compliance.

Who Can Attend?

Interested candidates from Startups, Industry, Research Institutions, Academic Institutions, Government Bodies, etc. who have a minimum academic qualification of B.Tech/Masters in relevant area of science and technology and atleast 2 years of work experience are eligible to apply for the programme. Applications from non-working professionals who have completed their doctorate/postgraduate degree in relevant area of science and technology can apply for the programme. Upper age limit for applying this programme is 45 years.

3. Hands-on Training Programme on Bioprocessing

Date- 17-18 March 2020
Venue:  Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi

Application Opens: 29 January 2020
Application Deadline: 26 February 2020

This 2-day programme shall cover advanced upstream processing, harvest technologies, downstream processing and analytical characterization. Applicants should select the desired module from the modules mentioned below in which they wish to receive training while filling the application form.

Module 1: Upstream Processing for Biopharmaceuticals
Module 2: Harvest Technologies for Biopharmaceuticals
Module 3: Downstream Processing for Biopharmaceuticals
Module 4: Analytical Characterization for Biopharmaceuticals

Who Can Attend?

Sponsorship from National Biopharma Mission shall include participation in programmes, workshop material, accommodation and hospitality for the duration of the programmes. A nominal commitment fee of Rs. 1500/- shall be charged as refundable deposit from applicants to ensure only serious applicants apply for the training programme.
