Call for Proposal under 2( UNIVERSITY INNOVATION CLUSTER – BIOTECHNOLOGY (UIC-B) Cetre for Converging Technologies

Biotechnology Industrial Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a Public Sector Undertaking, under Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has been set up as an interface agency to nurture innovation research and promote affordable product development through public-private partnership.
BIRAC announces the launch of Post-Master’s BIRAC Innovation Fellowships for nurturing market led ideas.
University Innovation Cluster has been established by BIRAC in 5 Universities as pre-incubation centers to foster innovations and entrepreneurship for Post Master & Post-Doctoral students. Each UIC has its own unique research areas. The fellowships are highly competitive and exceptionally motivated students who have an eye for innovation and drive for start-ups would be selected for the fellowships. Each UIC will incubate and mentor selected applicants for carrying out the innovation research. Interested applicants can apply with their area specific research projects in the Rajasthan University UIC-B.
Who can apply?
Applicants who have completed their Masters degree on or after 1st January 2014 are eligible for
Post -Master fellowships.Scope & Support of BIRAC Innovation Fellowships :
- BIRAC Innovation Fellowships are for high level of innovation and application research in the biotechnology sector.
- BIRAC Innovation Fellowships scheme supports only up-to-concept stage.
- Post Master fellowship is Rs. 30,000/- per month with BIRAC Innovation Grant of 2.00 Lakhs per year.
- Grant period is 2 years extendable to 1 more year depending upon the progress and requirement of the research project.
- Mentoring support and project monitoring by UIC, BIRAC and partnered industries.
How to Apply:
Proposal under UIC scheme has to be submitted online and hard copy (generated through online application) sent with relevant self-attested documents to RU UIC-B within 7 days of the closing date of online application.
