In order to attract talented and meritorious students, HSCST is offering research fellowships in Science subjects namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Sciences etc. The fellowships will involve full time research work leading to Ph D. degree in the relevant subject areas from any of the Institute/University in Haryana
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR. Candidates who have opted for CSIR-JRF and have at least qualified CSIR- LS NET will be selected on the basis of their performance in NET for carrying out their PhD work in any of the University/Institute in Haryana.
ELIGIBILITY
M.Sc. or equivalent degree in any of the subjects in above broad subject areas with minimum 55% marks; and should have opted for CSIR JRF (NET) and were able to qualify eligibility test for Lectureship-NET in joint CSIR-UGC Test for JRF and LS (NET) held on 21.12.2014 & 21.06.2015. Candidates availing fellowship/ financial assistance from any other source will not be eligible.
AGE LIMIT
The upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years as on 1.7.2014 for exam held on 21.12.2014 and 01.01.2015 for exam held on 21.06.2015, which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBC applicants.
STIPEND & TENURE
Rs.18,000/- per month for a period of first 2 years as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Rs.21,000/- per month as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for the 3rd and subsequent years subject to terms and conditions along with annual contingent grant of Rs.20,000/- to the University / Institution.
Tenure of the fellowship will be 3 years extendable to 4th and 5th year as per terms & conditions of the programme. The total tenure as JRF plus SRF will not exceed five years.
How to Apply :
Applications for HSCST fellowship are invited twice a year through press advertisement as well as on website in the prescribed application form. The completed application form is to be submitted to the Secretary/EC, Haryana State Council for Science & Technology, Bays no 35-38, Sector 2, Panchkula.
Procedure for applying online application for HSCST Fellowship Programme:
- Click on www.haryana.gov.in
- Click on e-services
- Click on Apply (Application form for HSCST Fellowship).
- Press submit online button
- Press ‘Register’ button
- Create user Id and Password for applying HSCST Fellowship Programme. Your E Mail is the user Id.
- Press log in. Fill user Id & password and then fill application form.
- Fill all the given columns and upload all required documents in the form.
- Submit the e-form and you will get receipt number for further communication. After online submission of application, the applicant must obtain a print out of the submitted application for his/her record. Please don’t send the application by post.
- The last date for submitting the online application is 30.12.2016 (5.00 PM).
- The applicant own valid and functional email address & mobile number must be used for submission of the online application.
- Please do not submit more than one application. Please ensure that all details of the application are correct before submitting. No claim shall be entertained in case of incomplete or non-submitted application.
- Wrongly filled up application or application with lack of essential documents will summarily be rejected.

- 10th standard certificate for age proof.
- NET certificate certified by CSIR
- Photograph of the applicant
- Sc. final year certificate
- Signature of the applicant
- Caste certificate
- Proof in case of physically handicapped.
Only online applications will be entertained. Last date of uploading applications is 30.12.2016 up to 05.00 P.M.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR twice in a year. The tests are conducted twice in a year generally in the months of June and December. The CSIR-JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms. HSCST will pick up the meritorious candidates from the list of candidates who have opted for CSIR-JRF and have at least qualified CSIR-NET for carrying out their PhD work in any of the University/Institute in Haryana.
HSCST will advertise for the award of fellowship in the leading newspapers as well as on its website after CSIR declares the result. The candidates will be required to apply for such an advertisement and will be selected on the criteria described above. The Fellowship will be awarded on receipt of necessary details of the qualifying degree examination, NET exam conducted by CSIR, place of work, research topic, the name of supervisor and the concurrence of the Institution to provide all the necessary facilities. The validity of the offer of this award will be one year. Undertaking by a Research Fellow on Acceptance of the Award of Research Fellowship, joining report and attestation form are at Annexure 1.
