Job Purpose:
To Support New product Development, deployment and continuous improvement of products and product related processes, ensuring compliance to relevant Q&FS standards.
To manage the Product Performance Insight of all new products for the India Petcare business. Support for product performance validation with pets for new products/Existing product changes to support local Development. To manage the deployment & continuous monitoring of new digital product systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development of new products and or recipe modifications (eg DIB activities) in collaboration with cross functional teams like Supply & Marketing.
- Implementation of recipes and adaptations of local conditions to implement the centrally developed recipes in the best and most efficient way
- – Recipe maintenance to improve quality and nutritional values of products
- – Responsible for the Site specific recipes and SRC’s
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (Site R&D /Supply /Engineering ) to support PPI in the handover process on site when there is : recipe or raw material change outside of current specification.
- Work closely with Material development & commercial teams to identify new COGS opportunities.
- Support site activities which improve recipe costs (within spec), reduce waste and improve product quality
- Utilize CI/Lean tools such as Six sigma and FMEA to ensure our products are efficiently optimized with quality and cost in mind.
- Input to non-conformance management process, utilizing technical expertise to recommend a disposition
- Quality- “Associate is responsible to ensure effective implementation of Mars QMP (Quality Management Process), Quality and Food Safety requirements including Personnel Hygiene and GMP stated by the Organization as applicable. Associate shall deliver through Respective Area/Process Standard Operating Procedures. Meet basic competency requirements mentioned in the job Role Skill Matrix to ensure Quality and Food Safety requirements are implemented to satisfactory level.”
- SES-Create SES culture within the team through visible demonstration, engaging his/her team in all SES activities, defining SES objective as annual KRA’s and effective deployment of SES Policy/Management system. Responsible to ensure that Risk assessment is performed and controls implemented and maintained for all
- operational activities. Overall responsibility to ensure the functional compliance to Mars Global Standards, Asset conservation standards and all relevant local SES legislation.
Context and Scope
The activation of a new product or formulations will be undertaken by the Site R&D utilizing the handover process to implement at site. The Site R&D will also be responsible for developing the specification for the plant and validating the new raw material supplier with required line trials to ensure all KQA’s, as defined by the specification, are met consistently.
Working closely with Supply the PPI Process role will utilize key functional and technical skills to understand where opportunities lie to continuously improve site quality and efficiency targets. Non confirming product and raw materials will be identified by supply associates and Site Q&FS will consult with Product Development as required for necessary Risk assessment and later Final Decision making.

- Education & Professional Qualification
- Degree in Food Science, Food engineering, chemistry, or equivalent.
- Knowledge/Experience
- 4-5+ years in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering, or Product/Process Development
- Working knowledge of food processing or product development is highly preferred
- Must have or working with FMCG organizations.
