PRESCRIP-TEC DBT project

PRESCRIP-TEC is an international collaboration that is funded by the Department of
Biotechnology, India. This project focuses its research on introducing women-friendly and cost-effective tools and tests to increase the adoption of cervical cancer screening in different regions of Bangladesh, India, Uganda, and Slovakia. The project aims at introducing interactive information with communities via mobile devices and social media; client-friendly, community-based strategies with self-test for high-risk HPV infection, and artificial intelligence in the gynaecological examination.

Appointment and reporting – Appointment to the position will be for 1 year and renewed as per project duration with the review of performance through periodic appraisals of performance. Consolidated monthly salary as per the project sanction. Will report to the PI/ Co-PI.

Main Responsibilities

  • The overall coordination and management of the implementation of program activities
    including establishing and maintaining linkages with relevant partners and other
    stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the project activities, research objectives and
    outputs.
  • Training of the Community Health Worker/ ANM/GNM and supervision of their activities
    relating to the project.
  • Mobilizing partner organizations, stakeholders, and spokes as per the agreement and
    fulfilling project objectives.
  • Managing and mobilizing human, material, and financial resources as per the needs for
    project activities.
  • Organizing community clinic for screening with help of health workers and other staff.
  • Managing and maintaining an appropriate information log on all aspects of the project.
  • Coordinating and liaising with MAHE (India) and providing them with all necessary
    information including periodical activity/mid-term recruitment reports etc.
  • Communicating project performance to management and partners (including the
    Sponsor) via the PI and Co-PI.
  • Ensuring timely reporting and documentation to improve relationships and
    accountability to collaborating partners through quality reporting in consultation with
    the Principal Investigator.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the activity of the day-to-day implementation of the project
    following the protocol.
  • Overseeing and submitting an annual review and the audit of the project as required by
    DBT and the collaborating partners, keeping records of assets, payment, consumables,
    and any Unit purchased goods/services for the potential auditory check.
  • Organizing Project Management Group meetings with staff and health workers
    quarterly.
  • Ensuring a system is in place to timely co-ordinate screened patients, arrange follow-up
    appointments for patients who require treatment.
  • Ensuring that the research is conducted following the protocol, associated standard
    operating procedures, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
  • Maintain the patient case record files and all other project-related documents. Assist
    with maintenance of financial records and supply stock of the project.
  • Travel to the field for data collection and screening with unit staff and doctors.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all involved staff in the
    project.
  • Work autonomously to maximize recruitment into the project and maintain the
    dateline.
  • Consider the training, workshops, and educational implications of the protocol and work
    with the project management group to develop appropriate strategies to ensure the
    safe and accurate implementation of the study.
  • Demonstrate a continuous process of professional and personal development to
    develop own and others’ skills and be aware of changes in professional practice.

Qualification – Relevant post-graduate in Natural sciences or Social Sciences with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a research area or project

Essential

  • Experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing
  • Fluent in other local languages or dialects, if applicable
  • Good communication and listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Good time management skills with an ability to plan and prioritize their workload to
    meet schedules and seek advice when necessary
  • A flexible, team-working attitude
