DST Research Fellowships Arrears

As we have already been informed, Department of Science & Technology (DST) R&D Programmes fellowships has been revised. The official notification for the payment of arrears and enhanced fellowship to research personnel engaged in R&D programs has been released. Check it out below:

Payment of arrears and enhanced fellowship to research personnel engaged in R& D programs of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) in connection with the recent revision of fellowship

The Government has revised the fellowship of research fellows (JRF & SRF) and Research Associates (RA) working in R&D programs of the Central Government Departments/Agencies vide DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019 with effect from 01.01.2019.

2. Subject to availability of funds, Institutions in receipt of R&D projects from DST and Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) may pay arrears and enhanced fellowships to research personnel (JRF/SRF/RA) who are eligible to receive revised fellowship as per the said OM from respective project funds or internal resources of the grantee institutions with immediate effect. For grant of additional funds on account of the revision in fellowships, if necessary

, the grantee institutions / Principal Investigators are requested to submit an arrear statement in the format given along with Statement of Expenditure (SE) and Utilization Certificate (UC) for 2018-19 to the concerned Programme Officer of DST / SERB.

3. The Autonomous Bodies of the DST may pay arrears as well as revised fellowships to JRF/SRF/RA engaged by them from their annual salary budget. For additional funds, if necessary, they may approach DST for enhancement in allocation.

4. This issues with the approval of Secretary, DST vide Dy. No EF-24051 dated 23.04.2019.
