The official notification for the CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards 2019 has been released. Interested candidates with either a BSc or an MSc Life Sciences background are eligible to apply for the awards. A stipend will also be given for the intern. Established in 1984, the CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), Chandigarh is one among the chain of 38 national laboratories of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). The Institute’s primary asset is a team of more than 55 highly motivated scientists, with a majority of them having several years of training in world renowned laboratories. Supported by more than 300 well trained technical staff and graduate students, these scientists have built strong peer credibility both in basic and application-oriented broad thematic areas of molecular biology and microbial genetics, cell biology and immunology, protein science and engineering, and fermentation technology and applied microbiology. These overreaching focus areas required enabling research facilities, structures and practices which IMTECH has created over the years, recognized nationally ot be the best, globally at par with the best.

Positions: 2

Tenure: Maximum of two years (subject to performance review every 6 months)

Eligibility: First Class or equivalent GPA in

(a) Bachelor’s in Life Sciences / Technology / Pharmacy OR
(b) Master’s Degree in any branch of science

Stipend: Rs. 24,000 pm

Desirability: Working knowledge in the area of cell biology and molecular biology.

Age Limit: 25 years as on 20 June 2019 (last date of receiving applications). Age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST, physically handicapped, OBC and female candidates.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates should apply through online link available on IMTECH website. Candidates are required to upload their CV (in pdf format only) along with the application. The list of eligible candidates will be displayed on IMTECH website for general information of candidates to appear in interview.
