Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the PhD in Biotechnology program must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree (M.Sc., M.Tech., M.V.Sc., or M.Pharm.) or MBBS / B.Tech. in Life Sciences.
- Candidates must have qualified CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/INSPIRE NET JRF/UGC-RGNF or an equivalent national research fellowship valid for five years.
(Note: Candidates with only GATE/MPAT qualifications are not eligible.)
The terms and fellowship amounts will be governed by the awarding agency and NIAB’s institutional policies.

Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted for an online interview based on eligibility and merit.
- Interviews will be conducted via video conferencing between 16th and 17th December 2025.
- Selected candidates will join the biotech PhD program by 12th January 2026.
