Educational Requirements for the Associate Medical Coder Role:
- Graduate or Postgraduate in Life Sciences or Allied Medicine (BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Dental, Pharmacist, Nursing).
- Certified Medical Coder (Certification from AAPC or AHIMA–CCS, CPC, CPC-H, or CCS-P).
Experience Required for the Associate Medical Coder Role:

Minimum 1 year of experience in Acute Surgery or Emergency Department (ED) coding.
Key Responsibilities of the Associate Medical Coder Role:
- Code medical records accurately using ICD-10 and PCS as per SLA requirements.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and data confidentiality standards.
- Identify and resolve inconsistencies or discrepancies in received medical data.

- Apply official coding conventions and AHA-approved guidelines for inpatient encounters.
- Report discharge dispositions according to CMS rules and regulations.
- Maintain required accuracy and productivity levels as per client-defined KRAs and SLAs.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and terms of employment, including flexibility in assignments or shifts.
Skills Required for the Associate Medical Coder Role:
