Walk-in-interview for engagement of Project Staff under Projects and Diamond Jubilee Research Interns.
Date & Time of Interview:
- For Project Staff: March 19, 2025 (Sr. No. 01 to 06) at 9:30 A.M.
- For Research Interns: March 20, 2025 (Sr. No. 07) at 9:30 A.M.
Venue of Interview: S.S. Bhatnagar Conference Room, CSIR-IITR, Lucknow
The Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (IITR), established in 1965, is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) engaged in research and development in the areas of Environmental Toxicology, Predictive Toxicology, Health Risk Assessment, Preventive Toxicology, Inhalation Toxicology, Analytical Toxicology, and also National S&T Missions. IITR has two campuses; the main campus is located at the center of Lucknow City, and the other campus is approximately 20 km from the main campus.
Eligible and interested candidates may attend the interview for purely temporary engagement as Project Staff under CSIR/externally funded projects at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, and as Diamond Jubilee Research Interns under the CSIR-HRDG’s scheme entitled “Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards.”
Project-wise vacancy positions, date of interview, and qualification details are as follows:
1. Project Associate – I (HCP-0007) – 01 Position
Project Title: Toxicity/safety profiling of essential oils/aroma products.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Toxicology/Biotechnology/Zoology from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification: Research/work experience in regulatory framework and experience handling small laboratory animals.
Job Description: Conducting safety/toxicity studies under the regulatory framework.
Monthly Emoluments:
- ₹31,000/- + 20% HRA per month (if qualified under CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or National level exams).
- ₹25,000/- + 20% HRA per month (if not qualified under the above criteria).
Upper Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, physically handicapped, and female candidates, and by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates).
2. Project Associate – I (GAP-449) – 01 Position
Project Title: Micro and nanoplastics as emerging food contaminants: Establishing validated methodologies and understanding the prevalence in different food matrices.
Essential Qualification: Master of Science in Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Microbiology/Zoology/Environmental Sciences.
Job Description: Analysis of micro and nanoplastics in food matrices.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹25,000/- + HRA per month.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable as per category).
3. Project Scientist-II (SSP-461) – 01 Position
Project Title: Toxicity/safety evaluation of Nano Fertilizers.
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry with three years of research experience in industrial/academic institutions.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in biochemical characterization, cellular/molecular toxicity studies, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and strong scientific writing skills.
Job Description: Conducting chemical characterization of test chemicals and experiments using cellular and molecular techniques.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹67,000/- + 20% HRA per month.
Upper Age Limit: 40 years (relaxable as per category).
4. Research Associate – I (GAP-442) – 01 Position
Project Title: Understanding the role of mitochondrial proteostasis and UPRmt in the maintenance of stemness or neuronal differentiation in Alzheimer’s Disease.
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Toxicology/Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Neurosciences with three years of research experience and at least one SCI journal publication.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in cellular and molecular toxicity, rodent handling, mammalian cell culture, Western blotting, Real-Time PCR, LC-MS/MS, microscopy, and in vitro transfection studies.
Job Description: Experimental brain stem cell/iPSCs culture and animal studies.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹47,000/- + 18% HRA per month.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable as per category).
5. Project Associate – I (GAP-439) – 01 Position
Project Title: Toxicity profile of Mrityunjaya Rasa in experimental animals.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Toxicology/Biotechnology/Zoology/Life Science from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification: Research/work experience in regulatory frameworks and handling small laboratory animals.
Job Description: Conducting safety/toxicity studies under the regulatory framework.
Monthly Emoluments:
- ₹31,000/- + 18% HRA per month (if qualified under CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or National level exams).
- ₹25,000/- + 18% HRA per month (if not qualified under the above criteria).
Upper Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable as per category).
6. Project Associate – II (GAP-436) – 01 Position
Project Title: Toxicity profile of Rasamanikya Rasa in experimental animals.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry and two years of research experience in Industrial/Academic Institutions or S&T Organizations.
Desirable Qualification: Research/work experience in regulatory frameworks and experience handling small laboratory animals.
Job Description: Conducting safety/toxicity studies under the regulatory framework.
Monthly Emoluments:
- ₹35,000/- + 20% HRA per month (if qualified under CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or National level exams).
- ₹28,000/- + 20% HRA per month (if not qualified under the above criteria).
Upper Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable as per category).
7. CSIR-IITR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns – 10 Positions
Project Title: CSIR-HRDG “Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards.”
Specializations:
- 5 in Biological Sciences
- 3 in Chemical Sciences
- 2 in Microbiology
Duration: 2 years
Essential Qualification:
- First-Class Master’s degree in any area of Biological Sciences.
- First-Class Master’s degree in any area of Chemical Sciences.
- First-Class Master’s degree in Microbiology.
Job Description: Assisting in R&D projects related to environmental toxicology, chemistry, health risk assessments, preventive or inhalation toxicology, data collation, and analysis.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹24,000/- (consolidated stipend). No other allowance is payable.
Upper Age Limit: 25 years (relaxable as per category).
Application Instructions:
Eligible candidates will have to report for the interview at 9:00 AM. Candidates will not be allowed to attend the interview after 10:00 AM. The candidates must appear before the selection committee on the specified date and time at CSIR-Indian Toxicological Research Institute, Toxicology Bhawan, 31 Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow – 226001. Eligible candidates must bring the duly filled application form (which can be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.iitrindia.org), along with attested copies of mark sheets/certificates and a recent passport-size photograph. Candidates will be allowed to appear for the interview only if they possess the original certificates.
General Conditions
- Suitable candidates may be empaneled for future requirements, if any, under different projects.
- The date for determining age, qualification, and experience shall be the date of the interview.
- The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, wherever prescribed, shall be counted after acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications for the post.
- The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the aforementioned projects.
- The engagement in these projects will not confer any implicit or explicit right on the candidate for consideration for regularization against any CSIR/IITR post(s).
- The number of positions against various projects may vary at the time of selection depending on the requirements of the institute.
- No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
- No correspondence regarding the advertisement will be entertained through any medium.
- Candidates must bring their original educational/experience certificates. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
