Functional Role: Senior Scientist
Qualification: Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, bioprocess development, and oligonucleotide synthesis.
CTC: 7 LPA and above (experience-based on last drawn CTC)
Location: Hyderabad
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Scientist with expertise in mammalian upstream and downstream processing, as well as oligonucleotide synthesis. The ideal candidate will lead process development, optimization, and scale-up activities to support the production of biologics and nucleic acid-based therapeutics. This role requires deep technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to drive innovation in bioprocess development.
Key Responsibilities:
Mammalian Upstream Processing:
● Develop and optimize cell culture processes for recombinant protein and monoclonal antibody production.
● Design and execute bioreactor studies (shake flasks, benchtop, and large-scale bioreactors).
● Monitor and analyze cell growth, productivity, and metabolite profiles.
● Implement process control strategies for improved yield and product quality.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and scale-up.
Mammalian Downstream Processing:
● Develop and optimize purification strategies (chromatography, filtration, precipitation, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration).
● Perform process characterization, robustness testing, and troubleshooting.
● Establish scalable purification workflows while maintaining product integrity and purity.
● Work on high-throughput screening techniques for process optimization.
● Support tech transfer and regulatory filings by generating necessary documentation.
Oligonucleotide Synthesis:
● Lead solid-phase synthesis of oligonucleotides for therapeutic and research applications.
● Optimize reaction conditions, purification (HPLC, SPE), and characterization methods (MALDI-TOF, LC-MS).
● Develop scalable oligonucleotide manufacturing protocols.
● Investigate new chemistries, linkers, and modifications for improved stability and efficacy.
● Ensure cGMP compliance in process development and production.
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
● 3+ years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, bioprocess development, and oligonucleotide synthesis.
● Strong expertise in bioreactor operation, protein purification, and nucleic acid chemistry.
● Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, MS, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and spectrophotometry.
● Experience in technology transfer, process scale-up, and regulatory documentation.
● Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements for biologics and oligonucleotide therapeutics.
● Excellent problem-solving skills, project management abilities, and leadership capabilities.
