Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Student Trainee under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) head of SERB-SRG project proposal entitled “Characterization of PRL1 function in plant defense responses against insect herbivory,” under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Kumar Meena, Scientist, NIPGR.

1. Student Trainee (One Post): Consolidated emoluments: ₹5000/- per month as sanctioned in the project.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates currently pursuing a B.Sc./B.Tech/B.Eng./M.Sc. in any discipline of Life Sciences/BS-MS dual degree with biology as a major subject are eligible to apply. The tenure of the position is for two months and is not extendable.

Desirable Criteria: Experience in molecular biology techniques, CRISPR, and transformation in crop plants.

The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The stipend amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per norms. The appointment for the post of Student Trainee will be for two months only, and the tenure of the post can be curtailed based on the assessment of

the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month’s notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim, implicit or explicit, for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates may appear for a walk-in interview at the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067, on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 12:00 noon along with the duly filled-in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with the educational certificate must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m. on January 28, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 12:30 p.m. will not be entertained for the walk-in interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, earlier dissertation thesis, publications in copy (if any), and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).

Note:

Incomplete applications and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
