ICMR-National Institute of Virology, Pune, is a premier research institution under the aegis of the Indian Council of Medical Research, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

for the following project positions purely on a temporary contract basis for our short-term research project titled “Scaling up of facilities for production of Diagnostic kits/reagents for detection of JE, DEN & Chikungunya viruses” at ICMR-NIV, Pune.

Essential Qualification	Post Graduate Degree including the integrated PG degrees in Life Science. Specialization required in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Virology / Zoology.
Desirable Qualification	Candidates having Ph.D. will be given preference. Experience in the virology field.

1. 6. These positions will be filled purely on a temporary project basis for appointment purely on a temporary CONTRACT basis and co-terminus with the project.
7. The advertised posts are tentative without commitment for their filling. Recruitment will depend upon the requirement of the project and the approval of the competent authority, and the decision shall be binding.
8. Emoluments: The rates of emoluments/stipend shown in this advertisement are project-specific and may vary according to the sanction of the funding agency of the project. Payment of emoluments to the project employee will depend on the availability of funds from the funding agency.
9. Category once applied will not be allowed to be changed at a later stage, and no communication in this regard will be entertained.
10. The cut-off date for the age limit will be the closing date of receipt of applications.
11. The project for the engagement of the applicant will be decided by the selection committee/appointing authority, and the decision will be final.
12. Qualification & experience should be in the relevant discipline/field and from an institution of recognized/repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
13. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee selection.
14. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organizations are not eligible to apply.
15. The institute reserves the right to consider or reject any application/candidature.
16. Submission of wrong or false information during the selection process shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
17. Project personnel cannot be permitted to register for Ph.D. due to time constraints.
18. Project personnel will normally be posted at the study site; however, they can be posted to any other sites in the interest of research work. They are liable to serve in any part of the country.
19. Project personnel shall not have any claim on a regular post in this institute or any other ICMR institute or in any Department of Government of India, and their project service will not confer any right for further assignment or transfer to any other project or appointment/absorption in the funding agency or in this institute. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim, etc., are not admissible.
20. Further continuation/extension of project engagement will depend on the performance evaluation of the concerned project employee by his/her project investigator, subject to the approval of the competent authority.
21. The Project Investigator and/or Appointing authority reserves the right to terminate the service of project personnel even during the agreed contract period or extended contract period without assigning any reason.
22. Leave shall be as per the ICMR guidelines for project staff.
23. On selection, reserved category candidates must produce their Caste Validity Certificate, and OBC candidates must possess the latest valid non-creamy layer certificate during document verification before joining.
24. In the event of selection, a candidate must produce all documents or certificates in original relating to:
    (1) Educational qualifications
    (2) Date of Birth
    (3) Experience certificates
    (4) One recent passport-size photograph
    (5) Identity proof i.e. Aadhar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving License, etc.
    (6) One set of self-attested photocopies of all documents
    (7) SC/ST/OBC/PwD Certificate, if applicable, for verification at the time of joining the post.
25. Candidates who fail to bring the original certificates at the time of joining and if any discrepancy is found in the documents, such candidates will not be allowed to join the selected project post, and the position will be offered to the waiting list candidates.
26. Speed test on the computer in English will be conducted as a qualifying criterion for Project Data Entry Operator after verification of essential qualifications at the time of joining. In case it is not found satisfactory, his/her candidature will not be considered for further selection process.
27. ICMR-NIV reserves the right to cancel/modify the recruitment process at any time during the process, at its discretion.
28. The decision of the Director, NIV/ICMR, will be final and binding.
29. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
30. A thorough shortlisting process will be carried out, as it will not be possible to invite all candidates for an interview.
