BRIC-NIPGR Student Trainee With Fellowship – Bioinformatics, Life Sciences Apply

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Student Trainee for two months under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) head of SERB project entitled “Metabolomic analysis of fungal endophyte induced systemic resistance in Solanum lycopersicum on herbivory by Spodoptera litura”, under the supervision of Dr. Jyothilakshmi Vadassery, Scientist, NIPGR.

Student Trainee (One Post): Consolidated emoluments `. 5000/- per month as sanctioned in the project.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates currently pursuing the final year of B.Tech/ B.Eng./M.Sc./M.Tech in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Plant Science/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics or related field are eligible to apply. The tenure of the position is for two months and is not extendable.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates should send:
(i) Bio-data
(ii) Certificate from the head of the Institute/Department clearly indicating the current status of the student and permission to attend the training if selected
(iii) Copies of their marks sheets
(iv) A brief paragraph indicating their research interest

The above position is completely on a temporary basis for two months and co-terminus with the project. The

fellowship/emolument amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project. The appointment will be for two months and the same can be curtailed on the basis of the assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month’s notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim, implicit or explicit, for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates for the above position may send a complete application in the given format through e-mail with a cover letter showing interest and specifying the position (Applications for Student Trainee) along with self-attested copies of the mark sheets, certificates, etc. (from class X onwards) in a single PDF to [email protected] within 15 days from the date of advertisement on the NIPGR website. Incomplete applications and lack of supporting educational certificates will be rejected. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed.

The subject line of the email should be “Application for the Post of Student Intern/Trainee under Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR)”

Note: ONLY soft copy of the application in the given format along with all certificates in a single PDF will be accepted. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. For any clarification, candidates may contact the Scientist in-charge through e-mail only.
