RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF PROJECT RESEARCH SCIENTIST ON EXTERNALLY FUNDED PROJECT

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science. The Institute invites applications for the following positions on a contract basis.

Name of Post: Project Research Scientist

Title of the project: Modulating cellular metabolism to enhance neural stem cell function in the adult mammalian brain

Funding agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

Minimum Educational Qualification (as prescribed by the funding agency):

• PhD in any discipline of Life Sciences with relevant research experience.
• Post-graduate degree passed with first class, must have qualified national level exams conducted by CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR etc., and have more than three years of research experience in the relevant field.

Desirable Qualifications:

The candidate should be highly motivated to do basic research in biology, academically excellent. Must have technical expertise (at least in part) required for the project, such as animal handling (mouse), cell culture, microscopy, molecular biology, biochemistry techniques, and histology.

Number of posts:

Fellowship amount: Rs. 56,000/- + HRA

Tenure of the post: One year (Performance will be reviewed after 6 months, extendable on the basis of performance; project duration 3 years)

Age: Not exceeding 35 years with 3-5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically disabled as per government norms
