Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow or Project Associate to work on computational image analysis of developing embryos (PI: Dr. Sundar Ram Naganathan) in the Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) TIFR, Mumbai.
Post: Junior Research Fellow (J.R.F.) Or Project Associate
Qualification
Essential: B. E/ B. Tech in any Life Sciences or Engineering discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. OR M. Sc/ M. Tech in Biology and related fields/ Physics / Computer science and related fields with minimum 60% marks.
Experience: Expertise in programming using MATLAB, Python or related languages is desirable
Job Requirement
The J.R.F. will be involved in the various tasks of this project, such as
- Adapt existing image analysis codes to process movies obtained from various microscopes
- Develop new image analysis codes using MATLAB or python for tracking cells within an embryo and segmenting cell boundaries
Age: Preferably below 28 years on date 01.07.2024
Fellowship: If
Qualified in any national level test such as NET, GATE, JEST or Entry test of IISC, TIFR, IISER etc., it will be a JRF position with a fellowship of Rs.37000/- (JRF) + HRA as admissible.Else, it will be a project associate position with a fellowship of Rs. 25000 + HRA as admissible.
Nature & Period of Post: Temporary appointment for a period of one year with a possibility of extension for one more year. The extension is subject to satisfactory performance.
