Walk-in interview for Indian Citizens for one position of Field Assistant and one position of Project Associate II in the DST-SERB funded research project entitled, “Epidemiological Monitoring of SARS COV-2 and its variants in wastewater systems in the major cities of Kerala, India”, in the Laboratory of Dr. Shijulal Nelson Sathi at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, BIC, Akkulam, Thiruvananthapuram.

Field Assistant

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have good academic records with a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology stream.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates having demonstrable experience in fieldwork, molecular biology, handling of viruses under BSL-II Laboratory condition.

Project Associate II

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Good academic records with a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology from any recognized University.
2. The candidate must have experience in NGS data analysis and have a minimum of one year documented work experience in bioinformatics.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates having demonstrable experience in working with genome analysis and viral bioinformatics.

AGE

Below 35 years as of April 2, 2024. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

1. Project Associate II: ₹ 35,000 + 16% HRA per month
2. Field Assistant: ₹ 20,000/- + 18% HRA per month
   (HRA amount will be paid only to those who do not avail RGCB hostel facilities)

DURATION

For a period of 6 months or termination of the project whichever is earlier

Proof of age, qualifications, and experience is essential to be considered for the interview. Only those fulfilling the above criteria will be allowed to attend the interview. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.

Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications and performance in the selection interview.
