The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an internationally acclaimed Institution that works towards strengthening wildlife conservation and management through capacity building, research, academics, and advisory services. The institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity-related issues. WII invites applications from INDIAN NATIONALS for 05 contractual positions of research/project personnel under the Species Conservation Program CAMPA- DOLPHIN.

:Post I
Title of the Project: Species Conservation Program CAMPA- DOLPHIN.
Position Advertised: Project Associate – I
No. of Position(s): Two (02)
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- plus HRA.
Age Limit: 35 years as on the last date of receiving the application.
Project Duration: One year
Essential Qualification(s): Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences/Wildlife/ Fisheries/Forestry/ Environment/Botany/Zoology/Geoinformatics/ Biodiversity Conservation or any Life Sciences from a recognized University. OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualification(s): Aptitude for fieldwork. Experience of working in aquatic ecosystems/expertise in fish biology. Experience of working in MS Office, good oral and written communication skills.
Description of Work: Candidates will carry out the enumeration of Ganges and Indus River dolphins in India and will monitor the status of associated aquatic biodiversity in Ganga and Brahmaputra River systems under the supervision of Project Scientist and Investigator(s).

Age Limit: 50 years as on the last date of receiving the application.
Project Duration: One year
Essential Qualification(s): Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences/Wildlife/ Fisheries/Forestry/ Environment/Botany/Zoology/ Geoinformatics/Genetics/Biodiversity Conservation/Engineering/Technology/any life sciences from a recognized University. OR 3 years Diploma in Engineering & Technology.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Applicant(s) must read stated terms & conditions very carefully before filling up the Application Form.
- Incomplete/late applications and applications not in the prescribed format as per Annexure – I i.e. Application Form are liable to be rejected.
- Duly filled-in Application-Form along with all self-attested documents and application/processing fee shall be addressed By-post only to The Nodal Officer, Research Recruitment & Placement Cell, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun – 248 001 (Uttarakhand) and, the same must reach the Institute latest by 1700hrs on Wednesday, 28th February 2024.
- An Application Fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for the applicant(s) belonging to the General Category shall have to be deposited through an online mode. - Applicants shall also have to attach a copy of the Application/Processing Fee(s) deposited in the above-mentioned account along with the Application Form. Failing to attach the same shall lead to the rejection of the application.
- A candidate may apply for a maximum of two advertised positions with relevance to his/her academic education and, as per essential and desirable requisites of an advertised position(s). A candidate applying for more than one position shall have to submit separate Application Form and Fee for each position.
- The subject on top of the envelope carrying the application must clearly mention “Application for Advt. No. WII/ADVT.3/RP–CELL/JAN. ‘2024 at WII – reg”.
- Candidate(s) presently working with Government Organization/NGO/Project must ensure attaching a copy of the “No Objection Certificate” from their concerned employer/PI of the project, as the case may be.
- Shortlisting of applicants for an online interview will be based on essential qualification, age limit, UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/GATE (JRFship/Assistant Professor), the percentage of marks in Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degree, specialization relevance in Masters, research experience (Publications, Paper Presented in Workshops/Seminars/Symposiums/Conferences), SOP, and extracurricular activities (as per WII rules).
- The selection of shortlisted candidates for online interview(s) shall be done as per criteria stated below: UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET/GATE Passed % Marks in Post Graduation/Bachelors (As per EQ of the advertised post) Specialization relevance in Post Graduation/Bachelors (As per EQ of the advertised post) Research/Work Experience Publications, Conference, etc., and Extra Curricular Activities Total Marks Obtained 10 Marks 10 Marks 10 Marks 10 Marks 10 Marks 50 Marks
- Candidate(s) must also mention the names with complete addresses, e-mail, and contact details of the referees as mentioned in the Application Form.
- A checklist of the following self-attested documents shall be duly filled in the attached application form viz., Passport Size Photograph; Documents/testimonials; Copies of relevant research publications; Extracurricular activities, etc.
- Mere fulfillment of the minimum advertised qualification and experience requirement DOES NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be called for an interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of the application and mode of selection will be final and binding on the candidates. No inquiry or correspondence will be entertained from individuals or agencies.
- Based on the above-stated screening criteria, only the Top-Five (05) shortlisted candidates against each respective advertised position shall be called for interviews.
- A duly constituted Selection Committee will conduct the recruitment process.
- All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of joining for necessary verification.
- At the time of the verification of original documents or even after selection, if it is found that the applicant has attempted to willfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such an applicant will not be considered for selection, and due action will be taken.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit shall be allowed in accordance with the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) OM No. 15012/2/2010-Estt. (D)dated 27.03.2012, as amended from time to time. However, the categories of upper-age relaxations are as follows: a. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes up to 5 years. b. Other Backward Class (OBC) up to 3 years.
- The positions advertised are purely temporary/contractual for the project period as specified in the advertisement. They will stand abolished after the completion of the project.
- The Institute’s rules and regulations govern the project’s tenure.
- After announcing the results, the candidate should join the project immediately.
- The Director, WII, reserves the right to reject any application/candidate.
