Nominations are invited for Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2024.
The Government of India has announced National Awards in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation called as “Rastriya Vigyan Puraskar” with the objective to recognize the remarkable and motivating contribution by the researchers, technologist and innovators.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on behalf of Department of Science and Technology (DST) New Delhi invites nominations for the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) in Science and Technology for the year 2024 to recognize the notable and inspiring contribution made by the scientists, technologists, and innovators individually or in teams in various fields of science, technology and technology led innovation. The awards shall be given in following four categories:
I. Vigyan Ratna (VR) award to be awarded to recognize life time achievements & contributions made in given field of science and technology.
II. Vigyan Shri (VS) award to be awarded to recognize distinguished contributions in given field of science and technology.
III. Vigyan Yuva – Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (VY-SSB) award to be awarded to recognize & encourage young scientists who made an exceptional contribution in given field of science and technology.
IV. Vigyan Team
(VT) award to be awarded to a team comprising of three or more scientists/researchers/innovators who have made an exceptional contribution working in a team in given field of science and technology.The age of the nominee for the VY-SSB 2024 shall not be more than 46 years as on 11 May 2024 and there is no age limit for other awards under RVP.
The Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar shall be given in the following domains, namely Agricultural Science, Atomic Energy, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Earth Science, Engineering Sciences, Environmental Science, Mathematics & Computer Science, Medicine, Physics, Space Science and Technology, Technology & innovation and Others.
How to Apply:
Those interested may submit online nominations on Award Portal of Ministry of Home Affairs (https://awards.gov.in/). The portal shall be open from January 14th, 2024 to February 28th, 2024.
