The Foundation for Medical Research (FMR), a Public Trust and a well-recognized national research organization (SIRO) conducts basic biomedical, translational and public health research in the areas of infectious disease, environmental and community health. The Foundation invites applications for the following vacancies for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-funded extramural project “Evaluating Diagnostic Performance of SMaRT-PCR – a novel, non-invasive diagnostic workflow for detecting pulmonary tuberculosis in children” with a maximum duration of 4 years.
We are a dedicated team of researchers working on a project aimed at addressing the challenges faced in accurately detecting TB in children. We have developed a novel non-invasive diagnostic method called SMaRT-PCR for detecting pulmonary tuberculosis in children. This project focuses on evaluating the clinical utility of SMaRT-PCR and its diagnostic performance against standard diagnostic methods. Name of the Post: Project Coordinator (Grade equivalent-ICMR Project Scientist III, non-medical)

Essential Qualification and Experience:
- PhD in a relevant field with a minimum of three years of experience post-PhD
- Must have handled a minimum of five projects, as PI or Co-PI.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working with molecular diagnostic techniques and conducting/managing clinical research or trials involving human participants.
- Experience in working in the field of tuberculosis
Location: Mumbai (travel involved)
Scope of Work:
- Implementation of the project, operations planning and day-to-day coordination of project activities including experimental work and activities at all the participating sites
- Oversight of data collection from laboratories and all the participating health facilities in coordination with the data and site coordinators.
- Support the development of SOPs and quality control assessment for all project activities including technical protocols for RT-PCR testing
- Organize project meetings to manage progress and timelines
- Preparation of all monitoring reports for relevant committees and funding agency.
- Conduct training of site project staff for sample collection, testing and data SOPs, sensitization workshops and other project meetings.
- Contribute to data analysis and interpretation, writing scientific papers for publications
Upper Age limit: 45
Duration: Initially for one year extendable for further project period subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate
Consolidated Salary: Rs 78000 + HRA as admissible, salary commensurate to experience
