Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following position at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad against the DBT-funded project entitled “Establishment of a Consortium for One Health to address Zoonotic and Transboundary Diseases in India, including the Northeast Region”.
(i) Research Associate-II or Principal Project Associate Position:
Eligibility for Research Associate-II: Ph.D. in any field of Life Sciences (incl. Veterinary Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) or MD/MS/MDS with at least one year of research experience, OR MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech with at least 4 years of research experience.
Eligibility for Principal Project Associate: (i) Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent, with 8 years of experience in Research and Development in industrial or academic institutions, OR (ii) Doctoral degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Pharma or MD/MS with
4 years of experience in Research and Development.Desirable Experience: PCR, RT-PCR, Protein expression and purification, Serological assay development and/or validation, Serosurvey.
Age limit: 40 years (Relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions).
Fellowship amount: Rs. 49,000/-PM + 24% HRA (if applicable) as per the DST guidelines.
(ii) Senior Research Fellow Position:
Eligibility for Senior Research Fellow: Post-graduate Degree in Basic Science (MSc) OR Graduate/Post-graduate Degree in Professional Course (BVSc, MVSc, MBBS, MS, MDS, ME, MTech) with NET qualification or selected through national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions, with two years of research experience.
Desirable Experience: PCR, RT-PCR, Protein expression and purification, Serological assay development and/or validation, Serosurvey.
Age limit: 35 years (Relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions).
Fellowship amount: Candidates with NET or Post Graduate degrees in professional courses will be paid Rs. 35,000/-PM + 24% HRA (if applicable). Non-NET candidates can also apply but will be paid Rs. 28,000/-PM + 24% HRA (if applicable).
(iii) Junior Research Fellow Position:
Eligibility for Junior Research Fellow: Post-graduate Degree in Basic Science (MSc) OR Graduate/Post-graduate Degree in Professional Course (BVSc, MVSc, MBBS, MS, MDS, ME, MTech) with NET qualification or selected through national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
Desirable Experience: PCR, RT-PCR, Protein expression and purification, Serological assay development and/or validation, Serosurvey.
Age limit: 35 years (Relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions).
Fellowship amount: Candidates with NET or Post Graduate degrees in professional courses will be paid Rs. 31,000/-PM + 24% HRA (if applicable). Non-NET candidates can also apply but will be paid Rs. 25,000/-PM + 24% HRA (if applicable).

Applications are to be filled ONLINE. The online link for application submission is available from 16-01-2024, and the last date is 06-02-2024 at 05:00 pm. Candidates must fill out an online application form at www.niab.res.in. Candidates are advised to complete the online application form before the last date to avoid last-minute technical issues. Suitable candidates will be screened, intimated through email, and interviewed by a duly constituted
selection committee online. Original documents supporting date of birth, educational qualifications, and experience certificates must be submitted at the time of joining. The decision of the Screening Committee & Selection Committee will be final.
No need to send a hard copy. Interim inquiries will not be entertained.
