Dr. Kishore is a co-founder and Co-Managing Partner at Spruce Capital Partners and MLS Capital Fund II. He has a distinguished track record of accomplishments in biotechnology research, development and business. After receiving Ph.D. from the Department of Biochemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Dr. Kishore did postdoctoral research in chemistry and biology at the University of Texas, at Austin, USA.
He then joined Monsanto, where he made major contributions to the discovery and development of Roundup Ready technology and manufacturing process for biochemical synthesis of the non- nutritive sweetener, Aspartame. During his tenure at Monsanto, he was named a Distinguished Science Fellow and won the prestigious Queeny Award. He served as
the Assistant Chief Scientist- Chief Biotechnologist for Monsanto and President of Monsanto’s Nutrition & Consumer Sector prior to his leaving in 2001.He joined DuPont as the Chief Technology Officer of Agriculture & Nutrition in 2002. He retired from DuPont as Chief Biotechnology Officer to join Malaysian Life Science Capital Fund, as CEO and later co-founded Spruce Capital Partners. He is an entrepreneur who has founded or Co- founded several life science companies. These include Metahelix Life Sciences Pvt Ltd., MOgene LC. Abunda Inc, Amfora Inc. etc. He is a named inventor or co- inventor on more than 70 issued US Patents. He has mentored several people globally and continues to be actively engaged in building businesses based on cutting edge technical innovation.
Dr. Kishore serves on the board of several companies, academic institutions and not for profit entities, He’s a recipient of Bio’s Legacy Award, ASPB’s Innovation Award, Scientific American World View of 100 Top People in Biotechnology. Top 50 Leaders in Industrial Biotech etc., among other recognitions
