Role: Food Technologist – Entry Level
Commitment: 1-month internship with potential full-time offer
Location: Nethaji Nagar, Idigari Road, Coimbatore – Tamil Nadu
Internship: Paid
Responsibilities:
- Work under Head of Research & Innovation on food product, culture, and probiotic blend development process from ideation to launch.
- Work with novel plant protein ingredients & process development, shelf-life evaluation, pilot & manufacturing trials.
- Engage with external ingredient suppliers, culture banks, research facilities, pilot plants, and co-manufacturers to effectively deliver the final product.
- Design and execute experiments systematically to track product progress and deliver on decided specifications.
- Develop specifications and testing protocols for the products being developed.
- Work with co-manufacturing facilities on designing and validating HACCP/Food Safety plans.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to effectively position the product in the market.
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for any product issues.
- Design internal research lab, pilot scale, and manufacturing facilities.
- Maintain systematic and thorough records of all work being done.
- Develop intellectual property strategy on novel formulations/processing techniques/products.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Provide ongoing work updates, project plans, and outcomes to company partners.
Desired qualifications & personality:
- Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Food Technology or Food Science or Allied Science.
- Solid background in new product development, food technology, food chemistry, food engineering, and food safety.
- HACCP Certified.
- Demonstrated experience in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in formulating and scaling up food products.
- Experience working in the plant-based or alternate protein sector is a plus.
- Self-starter with a motivation to continuously learn and succeed.
- Very resourceful with the ability to make advantaged connections.
- Experience understanding and working in the food industry in India is a plus.
- Proficient in English, Tamil, and Hindi.
