Job Description

They are seeking an accomplished Senior Scientist with a strong background in Molecular Biology, Gene Editing, and Cell Biology to join our group. As a Senior Scientist, you will harness your extensive expertise to pioneer synthetic biology techniques that address intricate challenges and lead projects related to groundbreaking gene therapies for cancer and various diseases. Your experience in laboratory research and proficiency in supervising
technical teams will be instrumental in advancing our innovative initiatives. This role necessitates exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit to engage effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the evaluation and development of cutting-edge processes and technologies to facilitate the advancement of novel gene-modified cells.

• Apply principles of synthetic biology to conceive, test, and optimize DNA and RNA constructs that enhance gene transfer and integration efficiency.

• Conduct human T cell

transductions, oversee the generation of Plasmid, dsDNA, and mRNA, and conduct a spectrum of essential assays including PCR, NGS, flow cytometry, xCELLigence, ELISA, ELISPOT, and other immunoassays.

• Independently devise innovative assays and constructs for the genetic modification of human cells.

• Assess the feasibility and suitability of emerging technologies and products for efficient gene transfer applications.

• Methodically analyze, document, and present experimental findings in compliance with company standards.

• Formulate comprehensive reports, contribute to publications, and deliver oral presentations to communicate research outcomes effectively.

• Develop strategic work plans for both internal and external collaborations, ensuring meticulous execution to meet project milestones.

• Offer guidance and mentorship to technical staff; potentially oversee scientific and technical teams directly or indirectly.

• Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

• Engage in other tasks as assigned to support the organization’s research endeavors.

Basic Qualifications:

  •  A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Virology, Gene Therapy, Immunology, or a related field, accompanied by substantial experience in molecular biology.
  •  A minimum of 5 years of pertinent research involvement.
  •  Demonstrated prior experience in leading and managing scientific and technical personnel.
  •  Proficiency in developing Plasmid, dsDNA, and mRNA constructs, gene editing, cloning, PCR, NGS, cell
    culture, flow cytometry, cell viability assays, and fundamental immunoassays.
  •  Comprehensive exposure to gene therapy or gene editing, encompassing viral and non-viral vector
    development, expertise in transfection and transduction methodologies.
  •  Proficient utilization of cell-based analytical techniques and applications of flow cytometry.
  •  Proven ability to independently design, conduct, analyze, and present research projects.
  •  Effective multitasking abilities coupled with strong organizational skills.
  •  Exceptional written and verbal communication aptitude.
