Here are four interview questions along with sample answers for the role of Scientist – Manufacturing at Immuneel Therapeutics:

1: Can you describe your experience with aseptic cell culture techniques in ISO-6 cleanrooms under cGMP conditions?

Answer: In my previous role at [Previous Company], I had the opportunity to work extensively in ISO-6 cleanrooms, adhering to strict cGMP guidelines. I routinely performed aseptic cell culture techniques, which included maintaining sterility, cell line maintenance, and handling primary cells. I understand the criticality of maintaining a contaminant-free environment to ensure the safety and efficacy of cell and gene therapy manufacturing processes.

2: How have you contributed to the optimization of CAR-T cell manufacturing processes, particularly in unit operations like T-cell selection and expansion?

Answer: During my tenure at [Previous Company], I actively contributed to the optimization of CAR-T cell manufacturing processes. I focused on unit operations such as T-cell selection and expansion, where I conducted experiments to enhance efficiency and scalability. This involved fine-tuning parameters, implementing automation where possible, and continuously monitoring and adjusting processes to achieve optimal results.

3: Can you provide an example of a challenging situation you faced in a GMP manufacturing facility and how you resolved it?

Answer: In a previous role, we encountered a critical equipment malfunction just days before a major production run. This situation posed a significant risk to the timeline and project. I immediately initiated a cross-functional team collaboration involving engineers, technicians, and vendors. We worked around the clock to troubleshoot the issue, eventually identifying a faulty component. By securing a replacement part on an expedited basis and implementing backup measures, we were able to complete the run on schedule, preventing any delays or quality issues.

4: How do you stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in the field of cell and gene therapy manufacturing?

Answer: Staying updated on the latest developments is crucial in the rapidly evolving field of cell and gene therapy manufacturing. I regularly engage in continuous learning through industry conferences, webinars, and scientific journals. Additionally, I actively participate in online forums and discussion groups where experts share insights and experiences. This ensures that I remain current with emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices, which is essential for driving innovation and quality in my work.
