Remuneration: Rs.25,000 plus 27% HRA

Answer: I have gained valuable experience in these areas through both academic coursework and practical research. I have been involved in the care and handling of mouse colonies, including breeding and conducting experiments. My hands-on experience with flow cytometry includes sample preparation, data acquisition, and data analysis using flow cytometry instruments and software. I have also worked with various molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, DNA extraction, and gel electrophoresis. This experience has allowed me to contribute effectively to research projects that require these skills.
3. How familiar are you with genomics-based data analysis, and can you provide an example of a project where you utilized this knowledge?
Answer: I have a solid foundation in genomics-based data analysis, including the use of bioinformatics tools and software. One project where I applied this knowledge involved analyzing high-throughput sequencing data to identify genetic variants associated with a specific disease. I utilized various bioinformatics pipelines to process raw sequencing data, perform quality control, align sequences, and identify relevant genetic variations. This analysis contributed valuable insights to the project and helped in understanding the genetic basis of the disease.
4. Can you describe your ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment, given that this position involves multiple investigators and a team setting?
Answer: I thrive in collaborative research environments and believe that teamwork is essential for the success of any research project. I have experience working on interdisciplinary teams where I have collaborated with researchers from diverse backgrounds. Effective communication, sharing of ideas, and pooling of expertise are essential aspects of collaborative research. I am adaptable and open to different perspectives, which helps in fostering a productive and cooperative atmosphere within the team.
5. What motivated you to apply for the Project Associate-I position in the Bansal Lab at JNCASR, and how do you see yourself contributing to the “Centre for Marine Therapeutics” project?
Answer: I was motivated to apply for this position because of my strong interest in the research area and the esteemed reputation of the Bansal Lab and JNCASR. The “Centre for Marine Therapeutics” project aligns with my academic and research interests, especially in the field of biological sciences. I am enthusiastic about contributing my skills and knowledge to advance the objectives of the project. I believe my experience in mouse handling, flow cytometry, molecular biology techniques, and genomics-based data analysis will be valuable in supporting the research goals of the team and the Principal Investigator, Prof. Tapas K Kundu.
