WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Research Associate within BCG’s Data and Research Service (DRS) function, you will ensure delivery of error-free and insightful research projects within our Health care practice area. You will gain expertise in leveraging wide range of research resources, information portals and approaches in delivering research outputs that are meaningful for your requestors. You will display your ability to synthesize data and draw insights in the context of the ‘research ask’, accurately. Over a period of time, you will engage with seniors in the team on a regular basis to grow your understanding of the Practice Area and deliver deep insights to our Case and Knowledge teams.

- You will ensure complete and error-free delivery of research requests
- Gain expertise in leveraging a wide range of research resources, information portals and approaches in delivering research outputs
- Demonstrate your ability to synthesize (draw insight/conclusion) and package research output that directly address the problem in a clear and structured way
- Opportunistically contribute to BCG publications and KN materials; in partnership with RAs/SRAs
- Develop capabilities to understands and anticipate case team research needs (understanding case-team asks, client contexts, etc. to tailor research accordingly). Continuously engage with RAs and SRAs to discuss the same
- Demonstrate speed-to-output and client-orientation in delivery (improving on effectiveness in research completion)
- Strong ownership and able to manage (ability to identify priority) multiple requests at the same time
- Focus on customer satisfaction as primary goal
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Undergraduate degree minimum (Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or Biomedical sciences) with high academic record

0-1 years of relevant working experience, in Pharma, healthcare, medical devices and Biotech domain. Basic understanding of the health care space with prime focus on pharmaceuticals

Excellent English; verbal and written

Ability to work with wide array of platforms including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; to be able to provide insights in most user-friendly format

When synthesizing research outputs, I focus on drawing meaningful insights that directly address the problem at hand. I package these insights in a clear and structured manner, making them easily understandable and actionable for the requesting teams.
Question 3: Could you provide an example of a situation where you demonstrated strong client-responsiveness in your previous role? How would you tailor your research to meet specific case team needs? Answer: In my previous role, I received a research request from a client looking for insights into a specific pharmaceutical market. To demonstrate client-responsiveness, I not only provided the requested data but also included additional relevant information that could contribute to their decision-making process. To tailor research, I would engage with RAs and SRAs to fully understand the case-team asks and client contexts. This enables me to provide research outputs that precisely address their needs.
Question 4: How would you handle managing multiple research requests simultaneously while ensuring a focus on customer satisfaction? Answer: Prioritization and effective time management are key in handling multiple requests. I would start by assessing the urgency and importance of each request, allocating time accordingly. Open communication with the requesting teams helps manage expectations and ensures they are aware of the progress. By maintaining a clear schedule, I can dedicate focused time to each request, ensuring thorough research and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Question 5: Can you share an experience where you worked with various platforms such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to provide insights in a user-friendly format? How do you ensure your insights are easily understandable by diverse audiences? Answer: In a previous project, I used Excel to analyze pharmaceutical sales data and then created a visually appealing presentation in PowerPoint to present the findings. To ensure insights are user-friendly, I focus on simplifying complex data, using clear visuals, and structuring information logically. I also use concise language to convey key points effectively. This approach ensures that insights can be easily understood by diverse audiences, including those without technical backgrounds.
