Here are five possible interview questions along with their answers for the technical round:
- Question: Can you explain your research experience related to the project you are applying for? Answer: Yes, I have worked on similar projects during my Ph.D. research. My research focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in plant defense responses. I conducted experiments using molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gene expression analysis, and genetic transformation. I also have experience in working with plant tissue culture and genetic modification of plants.
- Question: How would you handle working with tribal communities for the Science Technology and Innovation Hub project? Answer: Working with tribal communities requires sensitivity, cultural understanding, and effective communication skills. I believe in building trust and establishing a collaborative approach by involving community members in decision-making processes. I would actively listen to their perspectives, respect their traditional knowledge, and work towards empowering them through capacity-building programs and skill development initiatives.
- Question: Can you describe your experience with molecular cloning techniques and transgenic approaches? Answer: During my previous research projects, I extensively utilized molecular cloning techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR amplification, restriction digestion, and ligation. I have successfully constructed gene expression vectors and transformed them into plant cells using Agrobacterium-mediated or biolistic methods. I also have experience in characterizing transgenic plants through PCR-based analysis and functional assays.
- Question: How would you contribute to the evaluation of transgene-free genome engineering methods in Eucalyptus for the NFRP-187 project? Answer: For the evaluation of transgene-free genome engineering methods, I would employ techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing and site-directed mutagenesis. I would design guide RNAs targeting specific genomic loci and optimize the transformation protocols for efficient gene editing. I would also collaborate with other researchers to analyze the phenotypic and molecular changes in the engineered plants and assess their potential for commercial applications.
- Question: How would you approach fieldwork for the All India coordinated research project on Bamboo (AICRP 2)? Answer: Fieldwork for the AICRP 2 project would involve activities such as collection of bamboo samples, surveying bamboo resources, and assessing their genetic diversity. I would carefully plan the field visits, ensuring proper sample identification and documentation. I would collaborate with local communities and forestry departments to gather relevant information about bamboo species and their ecological preferences. Additionally, I would employ appropriate data collection techniques and contribute to the overall objectives of the project.
