Hello there, We are providing you with some of the expected questions and answers for your interview. Prepare well and attend the interview for Life Science Job as JRF. All the best!!!
Question: Can you provide an overview of your educational qualifications and relevant research experience? Answer: I hold a B.S.-M.S./M.Sc./MTech. degree in biotechnology with a specialization in molecular biology. During my academic journey, I have gained hands-on experience in various molecular biology techniques and conducted research projects in the field of biochemistry and microbiology. I have also published a research paper related to my work. Overall, my educational background and research experience make me well-equipped for the position of Junior Research Fellow.
Question: Have you qualified for any national level examinations or National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET or GATE? Answer: Yes, I have qualified the CSIR-UGC NET examination in the life sciences category. This demonstrates my proficiency in the subject and my eligibility for the position. I have also cleared the GATE examination, which further highlights my knowledge and understanding of the field.
Question: Can you describe your experience with basic molecular biology techniques? Answer: I have hands-on experience in various basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, cloning, and DNA sequencing. I have successfully performed these techniques during my academic projects and research work. Additionally, I am familiar with cell culture techniques and have worked with mammalian cell lines for gene expression studies. While I don’t have direct experience with mouse handling, I am eager to learn and adapt to new techniques.
Question: What interests you about the project titled “Understanding the novel role of PERK in the Context of ER-mitochondrial Communication in NAFLD”? Answer: The project’s focus on exploring the role of PERK in ER-mitochondrial communication in the context of NAFLD is highly intriguing to me. NAFLD is a prevalent and complex metabolic disorder, and understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying its development is crucial. The involvement of PERK, a key regulator of cellular stress response, in ER-mitochondrial communication, presents an exciting avenue for investigation. I am eager to contribute to this research, unravel the underlying mechanisms, and potentially develop new therapeutic strategies.
Question: Are you interested in pursuing a Ph.D. program during your tenure as a Junior Research Fellow? Answer: Yes, I am highly interested in pursuing a Ph.D. program during my tenure as a Junior Research Fellow. BITS-Pilani has a reputable Ph.D. program, and being a part of it would provide valuable opportunities for further academic and research growth.
