qPCR Hands-On Training By IISc Incubated Lab For 1 Day Was Conducted Successfully

The transformative 1-day qPCR Hands-On Training conducted by the esteemed IISc Incubated Lab in collaboration with Biotecnika on 27th May 2023 was a resounding success. With over 50 participants attending the training either online or offline, it proved to be an invaluable opportunity for attendees to unlock the potential of quantitative PCR (qPCR) and elevate their gene expression analysis skills.

The training, designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in gene expression analysis, commenced at 10:00 am (IST) and was filled with a comprehensive itinerary. Dr. Deepti Saini, an ex-Principal Scientist at a genomics company and co-founder of Protein Design, led the training as the instructor. Dr. Saini’s expertise in the field of animal cell culture and her extensive experience in genomics provided participants with a valuable learning experience.

The day kicked off with a theory session from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Participants delved into the fundamentals of PCR vs. qPCR and explored the diverse applications of qPCR. Instruction on setting up qPCR reactions was also provided, ensuring that attendees gained proficiency in this crucial aspect of gene expression analysis.

After a brief lunch break, participants

reconvened for the real-time progress observation session from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Here, they had the opportunity to witness the progress of their qPCR runs and engage in discussions on primer design, amplification, and amp curves. This hands-on observation allowed participants to deepen their understanding of the experimental process and gain valuable insights into optimizing their future experiments.

The training continued with the data analysis and interpretation session from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Participants explored the analysis of qPCR results using Ct values and learned the delta-delta Ct method for comparative analysis. This session empowered attendees to gain proficiency in data analysis and statistical interpretation of qPCR results, thereby enhancing their gene expression analysis skills.

The feedback received from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive and encouraging. Participants commended the well-structured curriculum, hands-on experience, and the expertise of Dr. Deepti Saini as the instructor. Many expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to interact with industry experts and fellow participants, as it allowed them to exchange ideas and gain insights into the latest advancements in the field of qPCR.

This training was particularly beneficial to researchers, scientists, and students working in the field of molecular biology. It also attracted professionals seeking to upgrade their skills in qPCR and gene expression analysis, as well as individuals interested in exploring the applications of qPCR in various domains.

To recognize the efforts and commitment of the participants, Biotecnika provided a certificate of participation to all attendees. This certificate serves as a testament to their dedication to advancing their knowledge and skills in qPCR.

Overall, the 1-day qPCR Hands-On Training by the IISc Incubated Lab proved to be an outstanding educational event. It successfully equipped participants with practical experience in setting up and analyzing qPCR reactions while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among industry experts and attendees. By elevating their gene expression analysis skills, participants have taken a significant step towards becoming proficient qPCR analysts.

For those who were unable to attend, it is recoammended to stay updated on future training opportunities organized by the IISc Incubated Lab and Biotecnika, as they continue to pave the way for advancements in molecular biology and gene expression analysis techniques.
