Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Laboratory Asstt./ Technician/ Project Asstt. in the laboratory of Prof. R. MAHALAKSHMI, Professor, Dept. of Biological Sciences, IISER Bhopal.

Tenure: 1-2 years; extendable to 3 years with salary appraisal each year, based on performance.

Salary: Rs. 20,000/- per month. Prevailing norms of funding agency and IISER Bhopal will be followed. HRA as applicable.

Additionally, I cross-check my results and perform replicate experiments when necessary.

    • Answer: One challenging project I worked on involved purifying and characterizing a complex protein from a difficult source. The purification process required optimization of various chromatographic techniques, and the protein’s low yield posed a challenge. To overcome this, I systematically modified purification protocols, adjusted pH and salt concentrations, and collaborated with colleagues to troubleshoot and brainstorm solutions. Eventually, we successfully obtained the purified protein and achieved our research objectives.
  5. How do you stay updated with the latest developments and techniques in the field of biochemistry?
    • Answer: To stay updated, I regularly read scientific journals, attend conferences, and participate in webinars and workshops related to biochemistry. I also engage in discussions with colleagues and professors, actively seek new research publications, and follow reputable online platforms and scientific communities. Continuous learning and professional development are important to me, and I strive to incorporate the latest advancements into my work.
