Candidates will have to appear in the Walk-in Interview. Essential Qualifications – Post Graduate degree in Life Science/ Biotechnology or Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Allied subjects or Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:

  1. Scholars selected through National Eligibility Test – CSIR-UGC NET Including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
  2. The selection Process through NationalLevel Exam conducted by CentraI Govt. Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOs, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IISCR etc. Candidates having hands on experience in in Plant Molecular Biology will be given preference.

  1. What experience do you have with Plant Molecular Biology? Answer: I have hands-on experience in plant molecular biology techniques such as DNA isolation, PCR, gene cloning, gene expression analysis, and genetic transformation. I have worked on similar projects during my post-graduation and have published two papers in international journals.
  2. Can you explain your understanding of genetic engineering in Indian tea? Answer: Genetic engineering in Indian tea involves the manipulation of genes responsible for various traits such as drought resistance, pest resistance, and increased yield. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality and quantity of tea production in India using genetic modification techniques.
  3. Can you explain how you plan to establish an efficient platform for genetic engineering in Indian tea? Answer: I plan to establish an efficient platform for genetic engineering in Indian tea by optimizing the transformation protocol and developing transgenic plants with the desired traits. I will also ensure that the transgenic plants are stable and have no negative impact on the environment.
  4. What is your experience with the use of molecular markers in genetic engineering? Answer: I have experience in using molecular markers such as RAPD, AFLP, and SSR markers for genetic diversity analysis, gene mapping, and marker-assisted selection in different plant species.
  5. What are your career goals, and how does this position align with them? Answer: My long-term career goal is to become an expert in plant molecular biology and genetic engineering. This position aligns perfectly with my career goals as it provides me with the opportunity to work on a challenging project and develop my skills and expertise in this field.
