About the job
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the core R&D team in product development trials in the lab for NPD, and product renovation for Badshah Masala (A Dabur enterprise).
- Conducts sensory evaluation through application samples and documentation of the same.
- Performs physical, chemical & organoleptic evaluations on ingredients and/or food products.
- Conducting Stability studies, compilation and documentation of data.
- Routine Benchmarking activity of our core categories with market competition. Competition tracking (new launches, re-launches, reformulations etc.)
- Supports in generation & implementation of RM/Bulk/FG specifications for food products.
- Tests new products in the lab and develops processing methods in the pilot plant.
- Supports product scale-up and new product commissioning.
- Sets-up operational process conditions and FSQA parameters for production.
Skills & Competencies
- Functional knowledge – Sound technical knowledge and understanding of food technology, food processing, food safety & quality and NPD process.
- In-depth knowledge of the origin & quality characteristics of spices.
- Advanced level of knowledge about the preparation of application samples i.e. based on which the specific spices would be tried i.e. Biryani for biryani masala etc.
- Lab Skill – Methodological and systematic in conducting experiments & trials.
- Sensory Skill – Basic sensory skills with an understanding of different sensory test
- Problem-Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
- Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities.
- Communication – Listens and follows directions. Writes clearly and informatively.
Qualification & Experience
Minimum Graduate in Food Technology with 4- 6 years of professional experience in the spice industry. Should be experienced in the areas of product/process development, ingredient research, product evaluations through application samples, manufacturing, specification development, analytical measurements, Regulatory requirements, scale-up and commercialization.
