About Our Special Guest Speakers –
Dr. Mittur Jagadish,
Dr. Mittur Jagadish, a native of Mittur village in Karnataka, worked till recently as a Principal Consultant in the Biotechnology Facilitation Cell (BFC) at KITS (Karnataka
Innovation and Technology Society), Department of IT BT and S&T, GOK, gaining government work experience. Following his M.Sc., Botany from Central College, Bengaluru in 1974, and PhD in Microbial Genetics from Dublin, Ireland in 1979, he secured 16 plus years of Academic and also 16 plus years of Industry Experience in 7 different cities across 5 countries (India, Ireland, USA, Germany & Australia). He has gained cultural competence from his rich experience of interaction across various humanities while touching several R&D and Industry segments of Biotechnology.
His important positions included Principal Research Scientist- CSIRO, Melbourne, Australia; Senior Research Scientist – Astra Zeneca, Bengaluru, and Director – Monsanto Research Center, Bengaluru. He has published 31 research publications in international peer-reviewed journals, 6 in Proceedings / Books plus several articles in the popular press category, and columns in newspapers.
Dr Pratima Khandelwal
She is an edu-prenuer and the Founder of ‘FlyHigh’ Educational Excellence Services (an MSME unit) in Bengaluru. FlyHigh is dedicated for capacity building of teachers and students, primarily at higher educational institutions. She’s also the Professor of Practice at Faculty of Life and Allied Health Sciences at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru. She carries collective 23 years of teaching (MSc and BE Biotechnology), research, mentoring and leadership experience.
She holds MSc and PhD in Food Technology from India’s first agricultural university- GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar. She has guided PhD, MSc and BE students; published over 45 research papers on Synbiotics, fermentation, and on Pedagogy. She is the inventor of two patents, co-discoverer of few useful fungal strains and is on the editorial board of two food/dairy international journals.
Since 2018, she’s contributing to upskill teachers and students via customized, engaging and interactive based empathetic and techno- pedagogy. She has contributed at training programs at AICTE, NPTEL, NAHEP, Aatmanirbhar Bharat Training of Trainers (under MoFPT, Govt of India) and also at IIT Bhilai, IIT Kharagpur, many central, state and private universities in India and a few in overseas as well.
Her training programs are designed in alignment with OBE and NEP 2020. She carries passion and pragmatism in offering tools and techniques for happier outcomes with participants and stakeholders deriving multi-dimensional benefits.
