Bengaluru – Close on the heels of the Biotech Startup Expo 2022, another feather in the cap for the biotech and life sciences industry was the Inauguration of the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru on Monday 20th June 2022 and laid the foundation stone for the Bagchi-Parthasarathy Multispeciality Hospital to be established at the IISc campus Bengaluru
PM Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Karnataka and will be integrating multiple infrastructure projects. Of note is the visit to IISc Bengaluru which is India’s premier research institute.

The Centre for Brain Research (CBR) is an autonomous, non-profit research organization located at IISc. It was founded by Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan & Mrs. Sudha Gopalakrishnan.
CBR was established with the aim of carrying out basic research to understand the functioning of the brain in terms of health and disease. Over the decades it has grown to its present stature and this inauguration proves how far CBR has come being a philanthropic gift.
A bright day for scientists and the scientific community in India. We hope to see more such support
from the Government for the biotech and life sciences industry.
