General Information/Details about the post:
- The appointment is temporary and will terminate automatically with no compensation or notice on the Conclusion of this project.
- The appointed person will have no claim of appointment/absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.
- Appointment of this applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly relevant to the said project
- The qualification prescribed ought to have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
- The prescribed educational qualification is the bare minimum and mere possession of
the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where a number of

Emoluments: Rs. 1,00,000 /- per month
Essential Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any branch of Life Sciences.
Preference: Candidates having minimum 4 years of Post-Doctoral research experience preferred. Experience in systems biology and/or data network building; DATA management, network analysis and DATA evaluation with good communication skills will be preferred.
Job Requirement:
The incumbent is expected to:
- Collate information on cell / molecular biology/physiology / clinical biology/pharmaceutical science perspectives to assist in the design of the annotation tool.
- Work with other senior domain experts to establish a rigorous modality for the selection of publications and the evaluation of the annotated literature.
- Contribute to designing structure, and evaluating performance and functionality of the annotated data and its visualization as networks and animations.
- Utilize data networks to identify areas of relevance in understanding cellular function, behaviour and molecular crosstalk.
- Determine strategies for this area and integrating the same with other areas represented.
- Set timelines and milestones for the progress of the project at each level.
For Post II
Emoluments: Rs. 75,000 /- per month
Essential Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any field of Life Science / Data Science with a strong background in science communication, scientific content design or public engagement.
Preference: Candidates having minimum 2 years of experience with a strong background in science communication, scientific content design, scientific writing, public science engagement will be preferred. Experience in data science will be an added advantage and preferred.
Job Requirement:
The incumbent is expected to:
- Interact with the other teams to understand the workings of the MANAV platform and help assimilate the same to design teaching modules, communication material that will allow us to bring the MANAV platform to teachers and students in colleges across the country
- Help in designing and organizing workshops for teachers and students to communicate the use of the MANAV platform under the supervision of the Senior Domain Expert.
- Be an important coordinator for events like BIOTHONS which will involve mass engagement with students working on the Manav platform. In doing so you will work closely with Domain Analysts and the administrative team.
- Be in charge of developing and helping implement the rewards program that will support the Manav initiative. This will be done in close consultation with the Senior Domain Expert.
For Post III

Essential Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any branch of Life Sciences
Preference: Candidates having minimum 2 years of Post-doctoral research experience in Molecular Biology/Cell Biology/ Physiology / Clinical Sciences / Pharmaceutical Sciences. Experience in systems biology, data science or data network building will be preferred.
Job Requirement:
The incumbent is expected to:
- Work with the Senior Domain Expert to help assimilate the necessary information from clinical and pharmaceutical sciences to needed for the design of the annotation tool.
- Work to create the rigorous modality needed for the selection of papers and evaluation of the annotated literature under the guidance of the senior domain expert.
- Contribute to selecting papers that will be used for annotation along with the senior domain expert; interface with the annotation and software development team to ensure smooth integration of the scientific and data requirements of the project.
- Share the requirements and suggest enhancements if any to the MANAV platform development team to ensure that the quality requirements of the scientific team are met.
- Train and coordinate the work of Domain Analysts to ensure that quality and performance are both maintained in the selection and annotation of papers.
- With the communication and outreach team to comment on the design of teaching modules that will eventually be used to communicate this platform to teachers and students; contribute to these teaching workshops as needed.
