How to Apply:
a. Eligible candidates are required to fill the application form ONLINE by accessing the website https://recruit.cdri.res.in or accessing the link ‘SCIENTIST RECRUITMENT-2020’ available on CDRI website https://recruit.cdri.res.in The printout of the application, generated after Online submission is to be sent to CDRI with all the relevant enclosures before 15 January 2021, 23.59 Hrs. IST.
b. For online application process please refer ‘How-to-apply Online’ instructions, ‘Fee Payment Procedure’ and ‘Application Replica’ available on the above-mentioned website.
c. The application is to be submitted in four distinct steps, as below:
1. Registration (online)
2. Fee Submission (online)
3. Application Submission (online)
4. Dispatch of a physical copy of the online application with original signature (manual)
d. The datelines for the above-mentioned stages of application is as follows:
Start Date for Registration for Online Application: Saturday, 5 December 2020, 10:00 Hrs IST
Last Date for Registration & Submission of Online application: Friday, 15 January 2021, 23:59 Hrs IST
Last date of Receipt of a physical copy of the application at CDRI: Monday, 1 February 2021, 17:30 Hrs IST
e. Candidates are required to pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- as per ‘Fee payment procedure’ available on the website. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/ Women/ Other Gender/CSIR Employees are exempted from submission of application fee.
f. In case of universities/institute awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their university/institute guidelines.
g. The print-out of the application, generated after online submission, duly accompanied by self-attested copies of the requisite certificates, mark sheets, age proof, education qualifications, experience, re-prints of 1st page of publications and caste certificate, if applicable, along with one recent coloured passport size self-signed photograph affixed should be sent in an envelope super-scribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ____________ (Post Code ________)” by post to “ The Director, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Sector 10, Jankipuram Extension, Sitapur Road, Lucknow – 226031, Uttar Pradesh, India”. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit each application in a separate envelope for each post indicating the Code No. of the post.
h. Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and fees once paid will not be refunded on any count nor can it be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process.
i. Applications from employees of Government Departments will be considered only if forwarded through proper channel, certified by the employer that the applicant, if selected, will be relieved within one month of the receipt of the appointment orders. Also, vigilance clearance should also be submitted. However, an advance copy of the application may be submitted before Monday, 1 February 2021, 17:30 Hrs IST. Applications routed through proper channel should reach CSIR-CDRI before the date of the outcome.
j. Applicants must particularly make a note that the applications received after the closing date for any reason whatsoever (such as envelopes wrongly addressed, delivered elsewhere, postal delay etc.) shall not be entertained by CSIR-CDRI.
k. Incomplete applications (i.e. without the photograph, unsigned and applicable testimonials etc.) shall not be entertained and will be summarily rejected.
5. The following documents should be affixed along with the physical/hard copy(print-out) of the online application form sent by post:
A Coloured photograph pasted on the form and signed across in full.
B Self-Attested photocopy of 10th / 12th class certificate indicating Date of Birth.
C Self-Attested photocopies of all educational qualifications certificates as well as mark sheets.
D Self-Attested photocopy of Caste, EWS& PwD certificate, if applicable.
E Self-Attested photocopies of experience certificates if any.
F Recommendations of the referees, if any
G All other supportive documents in support of the application

Pay Matrix: Level-12 Rs.78800/
Essential Educational Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any area of life
sciences with 2 years’ research experience in virology.
Desirable Experience: Experience in the area of human pathogenic viruses, addressing infection mechanisms, host-virus interaction, diagnostics and antiviral therapeutics.
Job Specification: Set-up a virology research laboratory with BSL2 containment on viral
diseases of national priority. Develop an independent research program.
For Post II
Pay Matrix: Level-12 Rs.78800/
Essential Educational Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any area of life sciences with 2 years’ research experience in infectious disease biology.
Desirable Experience: Experience and contribution towards understanding host
immune evasion and regulation of host cellular processes by pathogens (parasites—malaria and other apicomplexans or leishmania/ microbes), experience with pathogen culture and animal infection models, interest in approaches for host-directed therapy.
Job Specification: To establish a robust research program in the area of the host-pathogen interface, contribute to the evaluation of in vivo efficacy of hit/lead compounds.
For Post III
Pay Matrix: Level-12 Rs.78800/
Essential Educational Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any area of life sciences with 2 years’ research experience in the area of human genetics.
Desirable Experience: Experience in the analysis of chromosomal anomalies – genetic or chemical/drug induced, genome analysis, transcriptomics, proteomics and FISH with an ability to analyze drug effects and toxicity.
Job Specification: Design & conduct experiments on genome analysis, transcriptomics, proteomics and FISH to analyze drug effects and toxicity.
For Post IV
Pay Matrix: Level-12 Rs.78800/
Essential Educational Qualifications & Experience: PhD in any area of life sciences with 2 years’ research experience in endocrinology.
Desirable Experience: Experience in the following area: a) organization of growth plate and regulation of chondrocyte differentiation, b) patterning and morphogenesis of bones and joints and c) joint tissue remodelling pathways leading to tissue damage, and identification of new therapeutic targets.
Job Specification: To undertake research in the areas of bone and joint physiology and
pathophysiology leading to the discovery of therapeutic targets.
For Post V
Pay Matrix: Level-13 Rs.123100/
Essential Educational Qualifications & Experience: PhD in an area of natural
sciences with 3 years’ research experience in biochemistry.
Desirable Experience: Experience in developing diverse methods of bioactive enzyme/ protein expression, isolation, characterization, enzyme kinetics, receptor-ligand (small molecule and peptide) interactions; in particular membrane receptor-ligand interactions, biochemical assay development. Expertise in Surface Plasmon Resonance and isothermal calorimetry.
Job Specification: Conduct an independent research program in biochemical aspects of infectious or lifestyle diseases; contribute to development of biochemical assays for discovery and development of novel therapeutics.
