Number of position: 1

Contract term: The position will certainly be for 1 year subject to a performance review after 3 months. At the end of the first year, there will be potential for extending the contract by one more year.

Age limit: 30.

Job description:

This role is in the lab which performs basic cardiovascular as well as cerebrovascular studies. The chosen applicant will closely work with the principal investigator and will certainly be studying the role of vascular genes regulating artery remodelling in the mouse heart. Research work involves bioinformatic analyses of single-cell RNA sequencing datasets relevant to the development of coronary arteries and also cardiac regeneration. The applicant will develop a pipeline for analyses of single-cell RNA sequencing datasets and analyze different sequencing datasets. The candidate will certainly work individually and collaboratively with various other laboratory members and occasionally provide bioinformatics support to the lab members performing wet laboratory work. In addition, the applicant will participate in laboratory discussions, and also present data in meetings.

Qualification & Experience required:

• MSc
• Convergent with bioinformatics, stats tools, resources and also packages
• Prior experience in New Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analyses (eg. WGS, RNA seq, ChipSeq).
• Proficient in R programming language, as well as various other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of Genomic databases.
• Research experience of minimum 2 years, ideally 3-4 years.
• Outstanding communication (written and oral) skill.

Minimum % of marks: 75%.

Salary offered: 31000 plus 24 percent HRA.
