CDFD, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, welcomes applications from Indian nationals for the following totally short-term vacancies in research projects funded by National/ International agencies at CDFD like DST/DBT/ICMR/ CSIR etc.
The description of the positions, as well as minimum qualifications for various openings, are as follows:
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CDFD JOB
The general terms and conditions governing the Advertisement No. CDFD/EMPC/2/ AUG’ 20 are as follows:
- The openings against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 shall be filled based on the openings available at the time of selection. If more openings with identical job requirements become available within one year after the selection, these can also be filled from among the candidates that are empanelled for the above positions.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply for multiple positions. Depending on the qualifications, experience and also recommendations of the Selection Committee, the candidates may be chosen for more than one position.
- Depending on the qualifications, experience as well as recommendations of the Selection Committee, the selected applicants might be placed on a scale as well as designation lower than the grade advertised/applied against.
- Applicants selected against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 will certainly be expected to carry out research in the areas of Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Computational as well as Structural Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology or Molecular Biology.
- Emoluments of the candidates selected against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 might vary depending upon the qualifications, experience, recommendations of the Selection Committee or emoluments sanctioned by the funding agency in the project.
- Selection against the positions at S. Nos. 1 to 7 will not make the candidates with Master’s Degree, eligible to register for the PhD degree.
- All these positions are purely temporary and are initially for a period of six months or one year. These positions could be extended/terminated depending upon the continuation of the project( s).
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/ EWS candidates will certainly be according to Govt. of India policies.
- Relaxation of age for SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/ Women candidates will be based on Govt. of India guidelines.
- Mere fulfilling the minimum qualifications will not entitle the candidate for being called for interview. The applications will certainly be screened by a Committee and candidates found suitable will certainly be shortlisted and interviewed with Video Conference. The decision of the Director, CDFD will be final in this respect and also no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
- Any of the chosen individuals may once in a while be assigned to perform any other duties commensurate with their qualifications, by the Director, CDFD.
- The Director, CDFD reserves the right to suitably changing/relax any of the above conditions. He likewise reserves the right to accept or reject any kind of application without assigning any kind of reason.

Research Associate
Upper Age Limitation: 35 years
Emoluments: 36,000/- to 54,000/- each month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biophysics/ Life Science/ Biotechnology/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics from recognized University/ Institute or MD/ MS/ MDS.
OR
M.V.Sc./ M.E./ M.Tech. having three years of research, teaching as well as design and also development experience with a minimum of one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Project-Senior Research Fellow:
Upper Age Limitation: 35 years
Emoluments: 28,000/- to 35,000/- per month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Grad/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course with two years of research experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Qualified National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
OR - Qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and also their Agencies and Institutions.
Project-Junior Research Fellow:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Emoluments: 25,000/- to 31,000/- each month + HRA
Essential Qualifications:
Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course.
Desirable Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or comparable course in Biophysics/ Life Science/ Biotechnology/ Genetics/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics.
- Experience in research as demonstrated by the successful completion of a research project in a reputed Institute/ Centre.
- Qualified National Eligibility Tests– CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
OR - Qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments as well as their Agencies as well as Institutions.
Project Associate – I:
Upper Age Limitation: 35 years
Emoluments: 25,000/- to 31,000/- monthly + HRA
Essential Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ M.V.Sc. or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or comparable.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Qualified National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE.
OR - Qualified National level exams conducted by Central Government Departments as well as their Agencies as well as Institutions.
Project Associate – II:
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Consolidated Emoluments: 28,000/- to 35,000/- monthly + HRA
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ M.V.Sc. or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equal;

- Oversee activities of testing in COVID 19 testing laboratory.

Lab Technician (Number of positions: 10):

Essential Qualifications:
