CDFD, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from Indian nationals for the following totally temporary openings in research project entitled “NATIONAL GENOMICS CORE” funded by DBT.

CDFD wishes to fill up the following posts in the above project.

The description of the positions and the Essential & Desirable qualifications for various vacancies are as follows:

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR CDFD JOB

The general terms and conditions governing the Advertisement No. CDFD/EMPC/2/ AUG’ 20 are as follows:

1. Depending upon the qualifications, experience and recommendations of the Selection Committee, the chosen applicants might be placed in a scale as well as designation lower than the grade advertised/applied (in the same group).
2. All these positions are purely short-term and are initially for a max of one year. They could be extended/terminated depending upon the continuation of the project( s).
3. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped/Ex-service person/EWS applicants will certainly be according to Govt. of India regulations.
4. Relaxation of age for SC/ST/OBC/ Physically Handicapped/Ex-service persons/Women applicants will be based on Govt. of India regulations.
5. Mere fulfilling the minimum qualifications will certainly not entitle the applicant for being shortlisted for interview. The applications will be screened by a Committee as well as candidates found suitable will be shortlisted and also interviewed via video conference. The decision of the Director, CDFD will certainly be last in this respect and no correspondence will certainly be entertained in this regard.

Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 50,000/— Rs. 75,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications for CDFD Job:

1. PhD in Genomics/Life Science subjects.
2. Minimum of 3 years’ post-PhD experience in genomics platform technologies.

Desirable Qualifications for CDFD Job:

1. Degree/diploma in business administration.
2. Conversance with Quality Assurance and GLP.
3. Proven track record of independent academic work and also leadership.
4. 2 years’ experience in the management of a service lab.

Nature of Duty for CDFD Job: Will manage and also collaborate experimental laboratory facilities, execute projects in a time-bound manner as well as implement Quality Assurance and GLP measures.

Computational Lab Manager: (01 No. post).

Age Limit: 40 years.

Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 50,000/— Rs. 75,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications for CDFD Job:

1. Phd in Statistics/ Informatics/ computational biology or related discipline.
2. Minimum 3 years’ post-PhD experience in computational analysis of massively parallel DNA sequencing data.

Desirable Qualifications for CDFD Job:

1. Degree/diploma in business administration.
2. Conversance with Quality Assurance and also IT compliance measures.
3. Proven track record of independent academic work and also leadership.
4. 2 years’ experience in the management of a service lab.

Nature of Duty for CDFD Job: Will manage as well as coordinate data analysis operations, execute data analysis projects in a time-bound manner and also implement Quality Assurance and also IT compliance measures.

Technical Associate (Experimental) : (01 Nos. post).

Age Limit: 35 years.

Consolidated Emoluments for CDFD Job: Rs. 40,000/— Rs. 70,000/- p.m.

Essential Qualifications for CDFD Job:

1. M.Sc. or equal (or B.Sc. with 3 years of lab experience) in Genetics/Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/related discipline.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience (in addition to above qualification) of working in high-throughput genomics platforms (massively parallel sequencing and also microarray).

Desirable Qualifications for CDFD Job:

1. Experience in whole-genome/ targeted sequencing, RNA-Seq, GWAS and Methylation Array.
2. Experience in lab automation platforms.
3. Experience in a service lab.
4. Proficiency in massively parallel sequencing library prep work and/or operation of sequencing/microarray platforms.

Nature of Duty for CDFD Job: Hands-on massively parallel sequencing, microarray data analysis, data analysis pipeline operations along with various other associated laboratory activities.
