We apply a customized, customer-centric, cost-effective business approach to offer greater value to our clients and challenge the way things have always been done in our field.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) established an office in India in 2001 with an initial focus on HIV/AIDS prevention. Today, CDC India has a broader scope with its headquarters in New Delhi and a satellite office in Mumbai. CDC works closely with the national government of India and local institutions to prepare for detect and respond to public health disease outbreaks

and disasters with catastrophic human impact. This capacity must be consistent development and sustained over time to ensure that the Government of India is best prepared to prevent, detect, and respond to disease outbreaks and public health threats. CDC India works across sectors and institutions through technical assistance and funding support through cooperative agreements (COAGs). Key local Government of India (GOI) stakeholders include the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), National Health Mission (NHA), and National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA).

High mortality and morbidity rates, healthcare systems exhausted of personnel and life-saving supplies, and devastating blows to communities both socially and economically are just a few of the impacts that pandemics can deliver. The SARS-CoV-2 strain responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic is no exception. As of May 21, 2020, 188 countries reported over 5 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, with over 328,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center. The U.S. Government (USG) vision for global health security aims to prevent or mitigate the impact of naturally-occurring outbreaks and intentional or accidental releases of dangerous pathogens, rapidly detect and transparently report outbreaks when they occur, and employ an interconnected global network that can respond effectively to limit the spread of infectious disease outbreaks in humans and animals. In partnership with other nations, international organizations, and public and private stakeholders, the U.S. Government seeks to accelerate progress toward a world safe and secure from infectious disease threats and to promote global health security as an international security priority.

There are three key themes:

  • Preventing and reducing the likelihood of outbreaks – natural, accidental, or intentional.
  • Detecting threats early saves lives.
  • A rapid, effective response requires multi-sectoral and international coordination and communication.
