An earlier call for Summer Program 2020 on normal mode stands cancelled due to COVID 19.

Objective
To provide B.Sc., M.Sc., B.S., M.S., B.Tech., as well as B.E. students of Institutions or Universities throughout the world an opportunity of exposure to a research environment by associating them with one of the Research Groups of IISER during the summer vacation.
Significant Points
(a) The duration of the Summer Research Program of IISER Kolkata is from 11th May to 10th July 2020.
(b) ONLY applications submitted with the portal will be considered for Summer Internship 2020.
(c) Each chosen candidate will be formally associated with a Faculty Member of the Institute.
(d) After joining, each applicant needs an original certificate from a currently affiliated organization (HoD/Supervisor, on letterhead) that she/he is not obtaining any other financial support. In addition
(e) For funded interns, a consolidated Fellowship amount will be deposited in the intern’s bank account straight at the end of the programme.
(f) On-campus accommodation is compulsory and is chargeable.
(g) Hostel Accommodation (Rs. 125.00 per week) and Bedding (Rs. 35.00 per day) charges for the duration of the whole stay need to be paid at the time of joining. Students can bring their own bedding.
(h) Access to computational as well as library facilities will be provided.
(i) Each candidate has to submit a formal Joining report within 1 week of joining. See the link in the portal for joining details. Please note that the address and bank account details (if any kind of) submitted by the applicants will certainly be treated final. The institute will not be liable for this information.
(j) Selected students should join the Program in no later than one week from 11th May. Selected students should not come to join on Saturday or Sunday since hostel accommodation as well as various other formalities can not be made available during weekends.
(k) A participation certificate will be awarded at the end of the Program, subject to the submission of a Project Report.
Financial Support
Students having KVPY/INSPIRE or any other summer research fellowship, and those chosen under the Indian Academy of Sciences summer fellowship program will receive financial support from the respective sponsoring organization. There is a provision for a limited number of IISER-K summer research fellowships, the details of which will be notified in due time.
The Fellowship is of Rs.1250.00 per week or Rs. 10000.00 for 8 weeks.
The Centre for Advanced Functional Materials (CAFM) at IISER Kolkata will fund two summer students, chosen by a committee through special selection criteria.
The selection will certainly be done out of the applications made to the CAFM associated faculty supervisors, the list of which can be found here.
The Fellowship is of Rs.1250.00 per week or Rs. 10000.00 for eight weeks.
Requirements:
(a) Staying on-campus accommodation throughout the period of a visit is required unless the research work requires travelling.
(b) Selected applicants need to abide by the policies as well as regulations appropriate to the regular students of IISER-K.
(c) Submission of a Final Project Report is required for the award of completion certification.

Q. What to do after getting to campus?

Timing for submission of joining report to the Academic Cell: 11 am to 1 pm, 3pm-4pm, (Except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays).
Q. When will certificates be issued?
A. Certificates will certainly be issued after successful completion of summer program 2020 based on fulfillment of the following conditions:-.
- Students will have to submit a Project Report at the end of their Program.
- Students are needed to submit a Project Completion form in the Academic Cell.
- Certificates will certainly be sent out to the candidates to their respective postal address submitted by them in Project completion form.
- Students can expect their certificate in September.
- Students require to write their correct pin code with complete address in project completion form for successful delivery of certification.
- Joining report as well as Project completion form should be written in a legible handwriting.
Q. What to bring to the campus?
A. A candidate needs to carry any identity proof, i.e., PAN card/Aadhar card/ Voter Id/ Passport/Driving license or any other Government issued identity proof.
