About POBE:
As part of its Science Outreach Programme, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) conducts a Project Oriented Biology Education (POBE) programme, for students studying in B.Sc first year (PCM) to explore their academic capacity, stimulate deeper interest in science as well as infuse imagination and also scientific temper amongst undergraduate students. Chosen students will certainly be given a chance to attend lectures, participate in laboratory projects as well as research. The program will certainly be conducted during the summer vacation for a duration of 6 to 8 weeks over 3 consecutive summers. Chosen students are expected to commit to the programme for 3 years and also successful candidates will receive a Diploma in Biology from the Centre. Specialization in advanced materials will certainly be possible during the last year. Those that complete the POBE program with exceptional performance will certainly be eligible for admission to the MS-PhD program in the Centre subject to acceptable performance in the interview.

Announcement of selected applicants:
The list of chosen candidates will be announced on the JNCASR website http://www.jncasr.ac.in/fe/pobe.php during April 2020. The chosen candidates will certainly be intimated by e-mail. More queries or correspondence pertaining to the application status will certainly not be entertained. Mere putting on the programme and satisfying the eligibility criteria does not ensure selection. Selected applicants need to indicate their acceptance within one week of the email sent out or else it will be presumed that they are not thinking about joining the program as well as the offer will certainly be terminated immediately. Any correspondence after the termination will not be entertained.

Eligibility:
Students presently studying in the 1st year of 3 years B.Sc program just (preferably with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, (PCM) combination).
Fellowships:
The total number of Fellowships offered will certainly be up to 10. A scholarship of Rs. 10000/- per month will be provided.
