PhD under University of Mysore
CSIR-CFTRI is a recognized organization for doing a PhD degree in Science under
the University of Mysore. Students can register for PhD under Physics,
Biochemistry, Bioscience, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Science, Food
Technology, Food Science & Nutrition and Microbiology.
Eligibility criteria for PhD in CSIR-CFTRI under University of Mysore:
CSIR-CFTRI invites application from students who have JRF of CSIR /UGC/ RGNF/
MANF/ DBT/ ICMR/ INSPIRE/ other equivalent or having CSIR-SRF/ ICMR-SRF.
Students can pursue Ph.D. program of University of Mysore in Biochemistry
/ Bioscience / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Food Science / Food
Technology / Food Science & Nutrition / Physics / Chemistry.
Eligibility: A Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Agriculture / Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 55% marks for General / OBC candidates / Defence Personnel and 50% for SC/ST/PWD students from a recognized University
.For industry Sponsored candidates, Bachelor’s Degree in Science / Agriculture / Engineering / Technology with a minimum of 55% marks and five years of industrial experience in a Food and allied industry.

Course Fee
There are four semesters in the course. The course fee per Semester will be Rs.25,000/-
(Rupees twenty-five thousand only). For Defence Personnel and Industry Sponsored
candidates, the course fee per semester will be Rs.50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) per semester.

Application Fee
A non-refundable Application Fee of Rs. 472/- (inclusive of GST @ 18%) by SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs. 944/- (inclusive of GST @ 18%) by other candidates may be deposited through https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm?corpID=299364 and
printed copy of e-receipt of the same must be enclosed with the application.
Students can send one-page soft copy of the application with name, address, email,
telephone, Mark secured in Degree, Category (If applicable), scanned copy of
fellowship award letter to the PhD Coordinator (Univ.) in the contact email.
Last, the date for submission of application is 23rd May 2019.
Original certificates need to be produced at the time of the interview, please visit the
CSIR-CFTRI website for dates of interview.

Selection Process
Candidates shall be ranked based on the Entrance Test (60% weightage) and Degree marks (40% weightage) in the order of merit, subject to reservation as described above.
For Industry sponsored candidates, the selection process will comprise of written test followed by an interview (Qualifying candidates only)
Any disputes with regard to Selection / Admission Process will be under Mysore Court
Jurisdiction only.
Printout of application form along with relevant documents should reach to the office of
undersigned on or before June 14, 2019, by 5 pm.

(2) 10 / 12th Class marks cards (Copies)
(3) Self-attested photocopies of All Semesters marks / Grade cards of the qualifying exam
(4) Proof of Date of Birth (Copy)
(5) Caste Certificate (Copy)
(6) Parent / Guardian’s latest Income Tax Return filed or Income Proof (Copy)
(7) Proof for remittance of application fee through SBI collect (E-receipt/Transaction
reference)
