Objective:
To provide B.Sc., M.Sc., B.S., M.S., B.Tech., and B.E. students of Colleges or Institutions Throughout the world an opportunity of exposure to a research environment by associating them with a single of the Research Groups of IISER through the summer vacation.
Salient Points:
(a) The duration of Summer Research Programme of IISER Kolkata is from 20th May to 12th July 2019.
(b) ONLY applications submitted via the portal is going to likely be considered for Summer Internship 2019.
(b) Each selected candidate will be formally associated with a Faculty Member of the Institute.
(c) After joining, every candidate needs original certification from the currently affiliated organization (HoD/Supervisor, on letterhead) that she/he isn’t getting any other financial aid.
(d) For funded interns, a consolidated Fellowship amount is going to be deposited in the intern’s bank accounts directly in the close of the programme.
(e) On-campus accommodation is mandatory and is chargeable.

(g) Access to computational and library facilities will be provided.
(h) Every candidate should submit a formal Joining report over 1 week of joining that gets the details Project Title, Bank Account details, and acceptance by chosen Faculty Member. The address and bank account details (if any) submitted by the candidates will be treated final. The institute won’t be liable for this information.
(I) Selected students should join the Program in no more than 1 week from 20th May.
(j) A participation certificate will be awarded at the conclusion of this Programme, subject to the submission of a Project Report.
Financial Support:
Students having KVPY/INSPIRE or another summer research fellowship, and those selected under the Indian Academy of Sciences summer fellowship programme will receive financial aid from the respective sponsoring organization. There’s a provision for a limited number of IISER-K summer research fellowships, the details of that will be notified in due time.
The Fellowship is of Rs.1250.00 per week or two Rs. 10000.00 for eight weeks.
Requirements:
(a) Staying on campus accommodation throughout the period of the visit is compulsory unless the research work necessitates travelling.
(b) Selected candidates must abide by the regulations and rules applicable to the typical students of IISER-K.
(c) Submission of the last Project Report is compulsory for the award of completion certification.

Q. What to do after reaching campus?
A. Students Will Need to go to the Hostel for finishing accommodation formalities. Then they should pay accommodation charges in the Accounts Section. Hostel Accommodation (Rs. 125.00 a week) and Bedding (Rs. 35.00 every day) charges for the duration of the entire stay have to be paid in the time of joining. Students may bring their own bedding.
Q. What to do after joining?
A. Every candidate should submit a formal Joining report, along with a copy of the payment proof, to the Academic Cell. These documents need to be submitted within 1 week of joining, comprising details of the project, bank account details (if chosen for summer fellowship) and acceptance by the chosen faculty member.

Q. When will certificates be issued?
A. Certificates will be issued following successful completion of summer programme 2019 subject to fulfillment of these conditions:-
- Students will need to submit a Project Report at the conclusion of their Program.
- Students are required to submit a Project Completion form in the Academic Cell.
- Certificates will be sent to the candidates for their respective postal address submitted by them in Project completion form.
- Students may anticipate their certification in end August or early September.
- Students will need to write their correct pin code with complete address in project completion form for successful delivery of certification.
- Joining report and Project completion form ought to be written in a legible handwriting.
Q. What to carry to the campus?
A. A candidate should carry any identity proof, i.e., PAN card/Aadhar card/ Voter Id/ Passport/Driving license or another Government issued identity evidence.
Q. Is it necessary to stay on campus?
A. On-campus lodging is compulsory, and is chargeable.
