Greetings from the Organizing Committee of EBCCON 2019! It is a pleasure for us to invite you to the National Conference on Evidence Based Medicine & Clinical Research on February 8-9, 2019. The speakers for the conference will be from premier institutes and the pharmaceutical industry who have a vast experience in clinical research. We believe that this conference would be useful to someone who is a novice as well as those who are connoisseurs in clinical research. With rapid advances in treatments & technologies, it has become imperative that we equip ourselves with the fine nuances of clinical research. This conference would be a fantastic opportunity to meet and hear the experts share their experiences in clinical research.

About the conference (8-9 February, 2019):

The aim of this event is to

equip postgraduate students, young researchers and clinicians with tools imperative to clinical research, along with basics of biostatistics. This conference would be a fantastic opportunity to meet and hear the experts share their experiences in clinical research.

About the pre-conference workshop (BCBR-2019) (6-7 February, 2019):

The pre-conference workshop on Biostatistics for Clinicians and Biomedical Researchers
(BCBR) will provide a platform to all to gain a formal training in biostatistics. Sessions will
comprise of lectures, group tasks, and individual problem solving exercises, hands-on training using SPSS and discussions.

Who should attend?

The conference-cum-workshop is designed for postgraduates in medicine/pharmacy/ life
sciences, investigators and scientists who are interested in clinical research.

The conference will feature awards for several interesting competitions.

1. POSTER AND ORAL PRESENTATIONS:

• Interested participants are requested to submit their abstracts online to [email protected] or [email protected] on or before 15th January 2019.

2. AWARD FOR BEST PUBLISHED RESEARCH ARTICLE

• One of first three authors or the corresponding author of an original clinical research
  article submitted between January-December 2018 can enter the competition. The articles will be evaluated by some of the best reviewers across the country. The participant should not be above 40 years of age.

3. AWARD FOR BEST CRITIC

• The competition will assess the critical appraisal skills of the participants. Delegates will
  have to give a slide presentation giving the gist of the article along with valid critical
  appraisal. Only PG students from any medical /pharmacy/life sciences field and PhD
  Scholars can participate.

4. CLINICAL RESEARCH QUIZ

• It will be a team event comprising of a minimum of 2 or 3 persons from the same
  institute. Only students can participate in this competition. There will be a written prelims round. The top 4 teams will be chosen for the final round based on the results of prelims. Questions will involve clinical research, clinical trials, biostatistics, GCP.
