Applications are invited for 05 numbers Research Intern Awards from Indian Nationals, who are creative and have passion and desire to pursue S&T as a career. The total number is tentative and may vary as per subsequent requirements.

CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Intern Awards scheme is meant to be a preparatory phase for young interns imbibing the spirit of enquiry and learning the tools and techniques of research through participation and doing. The scheme thus seeks for young interns to gain from the knowledge and experience of accomplished scientist by working with them and to take up S&T as a career.

CSIR the premier industrial R&D organization in India was established in 1942 by a resolution of the then Central Legislative Assembly. It is an autonomous body registered under the Registration

of Societies Act of 1860.

Eligibility:

Essential Qualification: Minimum 60% marks in MSc/BE/BTech broadly in the area of Chemistry; Physics; Life Sciences; ECE/ Electrical/ Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering

Desirable/Additional Skill: Analytical, Comprehension and writing skills as well as experience in using MS Office. Candidates with knowledge of Intellectual Property related matters will be favoured.

(Only those whose final results have been declared, as on the date of walk-in-interview will be eligible)

Job Requirement: Selected interns would be required to assist the scientists in the various assignments in the field of Intellectual Property (IP) protection and related issues os as to impart hands-on training in the area of IP protection and related matters.

Age Limit: Not more than 25 yrs, as on the date of interview which is relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped and female candidates as per rule.

Stipend: Rs. 24,000/- per month consolidated. No other allowance is admissible.

Tenure: Maximum period of 02 years not extendable under any circumstances and subject to satisfactory performance to be evaluated every 06 months. The interns shall have no claim for further extension, absorption or regularization in CSIR after expiry/termination of the internship. in case the performance is not satisfactory, the internship will be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s stipend in lieu thereof. During the internship period, the intern would be free to appear for NET/GATE and secure regular fellowship for doing PhD.

Mode of Selection: Interested eligible candidates must report at the CSIR Vigyan Kendra reception desk at 09:00 AM (Candidates will not be entertained after 09:30 AM) Selection of candidates for the Research Intern Awards could be based on their overall performance in interview.

How to Apply:

The prescribed application form can be downloaded from CSIR website and duly filled in forms may be submitted at the time of interview. ‘Walk In Interview will be held on 17th October 2018’ The application forms should be accompanied by self-attested photograph and copies of testimonials/ certificates in support of age, educational qualifications, experience and caste/tribe etc. mentioned in the application. The applicant must also bring all original certificates/testimonials at the time of test/interview for verification.

No TA/DA will be compensated for attending the interview.
