We Encourage Heads of Research Institutions, Universities, Medical and Pharmaceutical Colleges, to send in their nominations for the Sun Pharma Research Awards 2018. The awards are for excellence in original research work in Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences by Indian scientists. Non-Resident Indian scientists will also be eligible for these awards.
The 2018 Awards
There are 3 awards. Each Award will carry a Trophy, Citation and a Cash Prize of Rupees Two Lakh Fifty Thousand (Rs.250,000).
MEDICAL SCIENCES: 2 awards.
– One each for Basic Research and Clinical Research.
PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES: One Award.
How to Apply:
You’re asked to submit your nominations through online at http://sunpharmasciencefoundation.net/spsfn/ (Open in google chrome) for your initial research work. The site will be open to submitting nominations from July 1 2018, to August 30, 2018.
The
next information must be uploaded:- Total bio-data of the applicant
- Photograph
- List of 10 best papers of this candidate highlighting the essential contributions in them temporarily Awards already obtained Signed details of their excellence in research work where the nomination has been sent (roughly 10 pages)
- Two particular publications/ research papers pertinent to the research work
- A statement of the study work under reference hasn’t been granted any award previously Signed Justification for sponsoring the nomination, also Signed Citation on outstanding research work by the nominator.
A print copy of the complete set of uploaded nomination ought to be submitted to the office of the Foundation to reach by September 10, 2018.
Scope of those Awards:
MEDICAL SCIENCES
a. Basic Research
Basic Research will cover:
- Fundamental improvements in almost any area of bodily or bio-medical sciences which improve the understanding and extent of Medical Sciences.
b. Clinical Research
Clinical Research will insure:
- Contributions for improved comprehension of the operation of the human body system or aetiopathogenesis, pathophysiology or molecular basis for disease processes, thus improving the comprehension of healthcare sciences and result in progress in healthcare.
- Epidemiological research on (a) incidence of disorders, (b) effect of interventions on disease patterns locally.
- Application of improvements in Laboratory Methodology to increase patient care.
- Advances in treatment and diagnosis of ailments.
- Advances in understanding by clinical investigation of new and present medications, vaccines and diagnostic evaluations.
- Epidemiological research on the secondary prevention of ailments by curative interventions.
The number of awards in each category could change.
PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES
Pharmaceutical Sciences would cover:-
(i) New Drug Discovery and Development
- Design and development of new medications
- Analysis of new drug targets
- drug-receptor interaction and characterization of receptors
- Novel drug delivery systems
- Investigation of mode of action of medication
(ii) Procedure Development and Applied Research
- Outstanding accomplishments in molecular biology, biotechnology and fermentation.
This would also comprise Applied Research in Pharmaceutical Science covering inventions from the applied area with identifying features in:
- Development of new process technologies for industrial production of active pharmaceutical ingredients, intermediates or excipients.
- Development of Pharmaceutical dosage forms with enhanced equilibrium and/or bioavailability.
- Development of standardized dose creates through manipulation of abundant organic resources ranging from from herbal resources and conventional methods medication.
- Applied Research in the region of biotechnology/fermentation technology.
Outstanding contributions in a couple of regions of the aforementioned categories would be qualified for an award.
The Nomination Procedure:
- Indian nationals and Non-Resident Indian scientists working in India or overseas are eligible for these awards.
- Please submit your nominations online, from July 1, 2018, to August 30 2018, and deliver a print copy of this nomination with all attachments into the office of the Foundation to reach latest by September 10, 2018.

- B. In order of importance, list of ten best papers of this candidate, highlighting the significant discoveries/contributions clarified in them temporarily (not to exceed 3000 words)
- C. Statement of research accomplishments, if any, where any award has been obtained by the applicant. Please also upload short citation(s) about the study task (s) where the applicant has received the award(s) (to not exceed 2000 words)
- D. specifics of this study work signed by the applicant, for the Sun Pharma Research Award is maintained, including illustrations and references (not to exceed 6000 words).
- E. Duplicate of one or two particular publications/research papers of this candidate, applicable to this research work where the award is maintained.
- F. Signed statement by the applicant to the impact that the study work under reference hasn’t yet been granted any award before. The applicant must also indicate the extent of the participation of the others associated with the study and he/she needs to clearly identify his/her accomplishments (not to exceed 500 words)
- G. Citation (outline ) on the research work on which award is maintained in roughly 250 words accepted by the nominator.
The nomination ought to be sponsored by the HEAD OF THE INSTITUTE and also a person who’s competent to assess the research function of their nominee.
