The quest for new knowledge has been a driving force for centuries. Even early Greek philosophers, including Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, understood the need to present new ideas, question dogma, and participate in vigorous debate. In this era of rapid technological changes, face-to-face meetings provide an excellent opportunity to bring people together with different views and to further advance a field of study.

One of the most important forms of face-to-face formal communication is at a conference.
International conferences have the highest intrinsic value for every presenter, participant and delegate. It is at a conference wherein the best minds from across the world come together to put forth their views, discuss perspectives, challenge opinions and ultimately go back with a free and open mind, a refreshed sense of possibility as well as a deepened academic bank. Parallel to the spirit of such a confluence of ideas; Sunandan Divatia School of Science (SDSOS) is organizing a three-day ‘International Conference on Advances in Materials Science & Applied Biology’ (AMSAB) in January next year at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium. The conference is an interdisciplinary forum for researchers working in the areas of Materials Science and Applied Biology. The conference is aimed to disseminate knowledge about the recent advances made in these areas.

Researchers, academicians, scholars, faculties from many countries will be attending the conference to put forth their research for scrutiny from their peers to improve on their theory and final product. Countries such as Germany, United Kingdom, Japan and Israel have already confirmed their participation. AMSAB will provide an opportunity for researchers to present their latest research in their respective areas and devote those days amidst experienced academicians, industry researchers and peers, in scientifically motivating environment to exchange experiences and knowledge. Some of these presenters will be sharing cutting-edge research on a wide array of subjects such as Nano drug delivery and Therapeutics, Biomaterials and Tissue engineering, Applied spectroscopy, Bio- and Chemi- Informatics, Application of Material Chemistry and Metabolomics Research.

The chief patrons of this conference are Shri Amrishbhai Patel and Bhupeshbhai Patel who are the President of SVKM & Chancellor of NMIMS and Joint President of SVKM respectively. Dr. Aparna Khanna, Dean of SDSOS will be the Convenor of this conference & Dr. Sudeshna Chandra and Dr. Purvi Bhatt, Associate Professor at NMIMS SDSOS will be the Co-convenors.

According to Dr. Khanna, “There are many benefits, both globally and individually, of attending a conference. It envisages global networking to inspire innovative research to provide solutions and drive systemic change. Further, eminent scientists across the globe will share their research and future scope for betterment of mankind.”

International Conferences are great opportunities to connect with attendees from different
perspectives and views, learn from them, make new relationships, and strengthen existing ones. Conferences pave the way for scientific cooperation by meeting and connecting with researchers from different countries. They also help in cooperating collective research projects such as edited books, special issues in peer-reviewed journals or funding applications. Not only do you further your education, but you also learn how to talk to people from diverse backgrounds. In an attempt to invite a greater number of people & give them a chance to participate, the organizing committee of SDSOS have called out to all the research fellows.
