PhD Admissions – Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics January 2018 Session
Candidates with NET-JRF (not Lectureship) qualification are invited to join the Ph. D. programme of the Institute in Experimental Physics and Biophysical Sciences starting from January 2018.
The programme includes a pre-Ph.D. course work, popularly known as Post M.Sc. programme.
Eligibility: Physics – M.Sc. in Physics. Biophysical Sciences – M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry with Life Sciences at 10+2 level or M.Sc. in Life Sciences with Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Application procedure: The eligible students can apply for the programmes through on-line application only. The online application form will be available at www.saha.ac.in tentatively from September 25, 2017. The last date for submission of on-line application is October 31, 2017.

Selection procedure:
- A first screening will be done on the basis of past academic records (HS or equivalent, B.Sc. and M.Sc.) and NET rank.
- The short-listed candidates will be called for an interview process to be held at SINP during November 2017.
- The short-listed candidates will be informed by e-mail and also through announcement in our web page.
- The final selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performances in all the above stages of screening and selection.

Fellowships and benefits: The amount of fellowship, contingency grant, HRA etc. will be as per CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR rules (SINP will take no responsibility for such funds for students selected in this scheme).
Limited hostel accommodation will also be available.
